They overcharged us and refused to fully correct the bill. The menu said all our meals came with choice of soup. For only one of the meals, they then tried to charge us $4.99 for the soup. They then lowered to $1.99, because they claimed that one of the types of soup we ordered was an upgrade. The menu said choice of soup while specifying other things like sweet potato fries were an upgrade, not the soup (we did not order sweet potato fries, the point is the menu did list what specifically is considered an upgrade only for them to not honor the menu). If the menu had said the soup was an upgrade, I might not have ordered it. The person at the register gave the poor waitress a hard time, blaming her for failing to tell us and saying it was her first day. I do not think it was the waitress' fault. They should have honored the pricing in the menu. Then, they said they were already working on getting new menus printed and again blamed the waitress for not telling us. The waitress was so sweet in her tone while being professional and maintained a smile as her coworker tried to blame her. She did not deserve to be given such a hard time, especially when the issue was with the menu vs the bill, not her. The waitress had checked in with us multiple times during the meal and really was great. I was more angry at her coworker for giving her such a hard time than being overcharged, although I still feel like they should not have charged us the $1.99. It just wasn't worth continuing to push them to fix the bill over two dollars, though I was not happy either. I left not wanting to come back.
Also, my knife was dirty in the wrapped set of silverware prior to using it (had a whole green chunk of food stuck to it, looked like either a piece of salad or maybe a herb). The chicken was also on the dry side. Overall, the food was on the average side, though not bad either. It had some flavor. The parking lot was also very crowded, with some areas completely filled with cars. Plus, some of the lights in the parking lot were out. Some of the menu was also too faded and scratched to read, but not on the page I ordered from (the breakfast section on the back was faded and scratched). 0verall, it felt like this diner had room for improvement, but I have seen worse restaurants. At first, besides the issues with the parking lot, it felt welcoming and nice only for more issues to...
Read morePopped in on 12/31/22 around noon for a bite before heading home. I’m not from here- I don’t have the odd obsession with Diners that most Americans (specifically those from NJ) seem to have, and I made that pretty clear to my husband as I listed off the previous sub-par “diner” experiences he had taken me to. I wasn’t thrilled he was dragging me to get another one. But this. This place has changed me into a fan.
We arrived and were seated near immediately by the hostess. Our waitress arrived pretty quickly afterwards- and she was PHENOMENAL. You know those women who are just so full love kindness and compassion that they makes you feel like they’re your new mom and will yell at people who are rude to you? She was one of those people. Anyways- the menu was pretty large with tons of options. Typically at diner-esque places I pick the simplest options, with the thought of “they can’t possibly screw this up” leading way. so far between the zero wait time and lovely service my expectations were already exceeded, so I decided to NOT do that- we ordered the caramel French toast on special, eggs Benedict, and my husband ordered an omelette. Within a few minutes our wonderful waitress was placing hot plates on our table and loading my French toast with all of the whipped cream I could have wanted. Everything was wonderful. She was wonderful. The other diner patrons were wonderful. We were in an out in about 45 minutes, the tab was in the $40ish range even though we ordered 3 main dishes, and I was so full of comfort food that I napped the entire way home.
This is the one, folks. Go here.
Ps the management- Again, this waitress was amazing. Please be sure that she sees this review. We were in on 12/31/22 around 11:30ish and seated directly to the left when you walk in, behind the hostess stand. With how terrible people have become in recent years, customer service has suffered along with it. And rightfully so- I would also hate serving the general public with how attitudes and entitlement have encroached into every corner of society. But this waitress was so wonderful. She genuinely...
Read moreCinnaminson Diner is your classic, no-frills Jersey diner. You know what to expect – a big menu, late-night options, and that cozy, familiar atmosphere. We went for a late-ish dinner and it definitely hit the spot in terms of that classic diner feel. The menu is HUGE, offering everything from breakfast staples 🍳 to burgers 🍔, sandwiches 🥪, and full entrees. It took us a while to decide! I ended up going for the classic cheeseburger and fries, and my friend got the chicken fingers. The burger was pretty good – juicy patty, melty cheese, and a decent bun. Fries were standard diner fries, nothing special but crispy enough. My friend said the chicken fingers were good too, though a little on the bland side. We also shared a milkshake 🥤, which was a definite highlight. Thick, creamy, and perfectly sweet. Just what you want from a diner milkshake! Now, a few things held it back from a higher rating. The service was a little slow, even though the diner wasn't packed. Our server was friendly, but seemed a bit overwhelmed. Also, the food came out a little lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. And while the diner itself has that retro charm, some of the booths were a little worn and could use some TLC. Just minor things, but they do impact the overall experience. Overall, Cinnaminson Diner is a solid choice if you're looking for a classic diner meal. It's not fancy, but it's reliable and reasonably priced. Perfect for a late-night bite or a casual meal with friends. Would I go back? Probably, if I was in the area and craving some classic diner food. Pro-tip: Definitely try the milkshakes! 🥤 They're worth it. And if you're going during peak hours, be prepared for a wait. Also, check the specials board – they usually have some good deals. Just don't expect anything too fancy – it's all about the comfort...
