Let me give you the rundown of my day before going in on the review. My sister and I just finish a long Sunday grocery shopping visit at the near by Walmart before this experience. So now the scene is set.
After our Sunday errands we were driving a long the road and we spotted the grand opening sign. Subtle foreshadowing should've told us to keep driving but we decided to stop and give it a try since the location in North Jersey was highly recommended.
Another subtle foreshadowing was the designed of the drive through. It offered the two split lanes for ordering and merge into one for pick up and payment. We should've hightail it out of there once our car (a sedan) hit the nearby drive through curb. The design of the drive through lanes is not ideal. The left lane is narrow and a sharp curved into the payment lane. We also saw the car behind us hit the same curb. So if you are going through the drive through. Use the right lane.
Paid for the food then move up to the next window for pick up. The pick up window was a bit weird when the person opened it and was like "Did anyone greet you?" And proceed to stare. In his defense it wasn't a mean glare or stare but like more of an awkward stare. If they tried to be like the fast food chain that sells chicken and closed on Sundays. I think you guys need more training in that department but nonetheless we said our name for the ordered and after what felt like 5-7 mins. We got our food.
We ordered a chicken tender meal and one burger meal and two additional sandwiches. Even at the window the person asked us besides the honey mustard what other sauces do you need. So you KNEW we had chicken.
Long story short. The 5 tenders was never in the bag. But the two sauces where. Disappointment. Sadness.
Food wise. It's meh. This was my first time. It is like if you want a burger from In and Out meets bun quality from Sonic but "fresh". The patty itself is dry and unseasoned like salt ran from it. And the fries are horsestring shoes but if you want them to be toothpicks for your teeth. Wish I had the chicken to taste it. But nonetheless it was not an experienced I wanted. Long story short. If you see Freddy's. You know your dream of taste will end...
Read moreBeen living in the Cinnaminson/Palmyra area for 6 years now. Unless you go in and sit down at a diner there is not a single good milkshake place. I was so excited when Freddy’s opened. I love THICK milkshakes. And they did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. That being said, the service is so slow you could die. I was the only person in the drive thru and there was only one person inside. It took almost 10 minutes to get my shake. And no this isn’t a one off. Been there 3 times now and it’s been the same every time. Very few people there and yet I’m waiting and waiting and waiting. The drive thru itself is also strange. It zig zags and winds like an obstacle course. And it’s relatively tight so if you have a large vehicle you will most likely hit the curb. I’ve already seen people hit the curb when I was there. Idk what moron designed that. Even next to the windows the curb extends far out. So you have to really reach to pay and get your food. Also the drive thru splits in two so they’re able to take two orders at once. But they don’t. So you just sit there and wait for them to take the one order until they get to you. And the first thing they ask when they come on to the intercom is “can I get a name for the order?” Umm…why? Sorry but it’s weird and off putting. Just take my order. Again, I’ve been there 3 times and they’ve butchered my name every time. So…what was the point? If you want to make sure you got the right person to the right order just give them a quick run down of their order. I actually PREFER that so then I know you got everything right. Instead of awkwardly trying to greet me and saying my name totally wrong. Anyway, I’ll be back for the milkshakes. I love milkshakes. But my god please speed up. Oh and the fries are not good. They’re so freaking small it’s stupid. Like baby shoe string fries. Too small. It just irritated me cause it made me...
Read moreNot impressed at all. You go in and order like you’re at McD or BK but get your number, sit down and wait like 5 Guys. We ordered 2 medium shakes and got 2 “mini” shakes. Who makes ultra tiny milk shakes?
They were admittedly tasty but the stringy fries are weird. McD fries larger vs Five Guys monster fries. The two double burgers with cheese, pickle and onion were salty and on the anemic side.
So the burger search goes on. I don’t like McD anymore, BK has changed a lot over the past 60 years (diarrhea) Five Guys is way too expensive so I might give Wendy’s another chance. Prospectors makes a good burger but I want drive thru fast food like In and Out Burger.
In my humble opinion I don’t think this place is going to make it after the novelty wears off. It’s no big deal but I’m sure I’ll be back since it’s so close to home.
The place was well staffed and of course very clean since it’s a brand new place. I did notice there is no tipping like McD and BK. Whereas Five Guys and Jersey Mikes with insane prices encourage additional tips. Hey, my health insurance and auto insurance just jumped up so inflation is squeezing the crapola out of us. BTW 2 mini shakes, 2 double burgers, one regular fry was over $28.
New Jersey is not for the faint of heart nor weak...
