Just picked up a sushi "burrito" here, and a side of macaroni salad. The sushi burrito is kind of like a really really big hand roll, but better. It tastes super fresh, packed with the kind of tasty goodies you would find in a poke bowl. Really delicious. I would order it again in a heartbeat. They also have a complete array of the traditional Hawaiian favorites. The macaroni salad is good, and honestly the only thing that I would change is to add a dash of vinegar to it. But it's still really good. This place is absolutely worth a try if you like Hawaiian food. Okay, that is my food review. If you want to hear about the rest of my experience at JJ"s, keep reading. So, the food is great, but the service was even better. I'm in Sacramento for a quick trip to visit my elderly mother who is in a care home nearby. The care home is less than a mile from my hotel, so I decided I could manage without renting a car . But I didn't anticipate that it would be cold and raining. There's a Target just down the road , and I needed to pick up a few things for my mom and decided to walk . It was pretty chilly out, and it started raining while I walking to Target. I picked up my target order and decided to grab some JJ's before heading back to the hotel. All that is to say that when I walked into the restaurant, I was cold, damp, and kinda wishing I'd rented a car. Playing the woman behind the counter was incredibly sweet and a little bit shocked that I had walked in the dark and cold and rain, carrying my Target order, no less. After I had paid and was waiting for my food she came out and gave me a hot green tea to help warm me up. It was a small thing, but an incredibly thoughtful gesture. I really appreciated it. And the food made the whole experience perfect. I will...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I have started to become regulars. We got the crab Rangoon, chicken tonkatsu ramen, loco moco, coconut smoothie, and the strawberry yogurt drink.
The crab Rangoon were delicious. There isn’t a lot of crab inside of it but it isn’t super crispy like most places. It has a great texture and lots of cream cheese(which we loved).
The tonkatsu chicken ramen was delicious as well. The broth was slightly flat but still good. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The chicken was soft and delicious.
The loco moco was fantastic. The Pattie’s were tender and juicy. They give you a perfect amount of gravy on top. The eggs were perfect!! They were runny and helped mellow the black pepper. They give you a knife but you don’t need it.
Coconut smoothie was good. It had a perfect amount of sweetness and stays cold for a while.
The strawberry yogurt drink is good! It tasted like the yakult yogurt with strawberries. It’s slightly tart as well. I believe it’s a perfect balance for a drink.
Sadly we didn’t take pictures because we had just gotten home from the airport and dropped our bags off. We were hungry and knew exactly where we wanted to go. I would give 10/10...
Read moreThis is my favorite restaurant in the city. I love Ramen and this place has some of the best Ramen I’ve had in my life. Everything is so tasteful. I’ve had every single thing they have in their menu by now and I go almost every day when I can even if it rains and I have free time, I’ll go to this place and get some high-quality good tasting Ramen. And when I am not able to go to the restaurant in person, I usually get it delivered. I always get the spicy chicken Katsu Ramen with extra eggs and extra Ramen noodles with a honeydew drink that is both refreshing and tasteful I have had eaten at five star restaurants, and super luxury hotels and this right here. It’s way better than those restaurants. You can really taste the dedication that is put into making the meals that are served in this place. This Food is truly a delicacy and something to...
