Pho Viet — Restaurant in Citrus Heights

I've only had take out here twice. The first time I was so disappointed but I didn't personally make the order. Today I accidentally ordered from here rather than my go to place on Sunrise by Walgreens. Since I had already placed the order I just went ahead and picked it up hoping it'd be better. To be fair, I only get beef pho so this reveiw only reflects the pho specifically. The broth is literally water with a mild beef flavor. No spices or aromatics what so ever. Which completely defeats the purpose of good PHO. To spend $36 bucks on something I could've easily made myself with better than beef bullion is beyond disappointing. I would’ve given this place more stars as we frequent the place a lot, because my kids an husband love their pho soup. However the most recent time we had ordered from this place several things had happened. They got the order wrong for one so luckily we live really close to the restaurant, I walked back to complain they gave us the wrong dish. They also gave us anther wrong dish, we had wanted the orange chicken an looked nothing like it normally does. The next day my husband felt really ill to the point where he had food poisoning. My favorite Vietnamese restaurant! I usually order the steak & brisket pho and house special chow mein, both of which are always good.

I recently just tried the grilled beef & egg rolls over vermicelli noodles for the first time and it really hit the spot, especially during this hot weather. The meat was marinated perfectly and the veggies were super refreshing.

I have also tried their Thai tea, avocado shake, and Vietnamese coffee.

The service is always very friendly as well. Plenty of seats and the food comes out fast. This place never...
