Overall, my experience at the Boost Mobile on Auburn & Greenback in Citrus Heights was frustrating and disappointing after the first encounter.
First, I had trouble locating my MetroPCS account number to port my number over, and the employee offered to help by attempting to log into my Metro account herself—which felt a bit sketchy, to be honest.
After completing the purchase, I noticed a $30 charge for a screen protector I didn’t ask for. When I questioned it, I got a vague “it’s included” excuse, but that was never explained upfront. Transparency was definitely lacking.
I ended up having network issues almost immediately, so I brought the phone back the next day. They offered to switch me to a different network, but I was already done dealing with the hassle. I asked for a refund and only got $100 back for the phone—nothing refunded for the service I could barely even use.
When I called Boost customer service, they told me they couldn’t do anything because the stores are independently owned and mainly profit off accessories. That was disappointing but not surprising at that point.
Also, being asked to leave a review before leaving—and then having them screenshot it—felt pushy and weird.
Bottom line: shady refund practices, lack of transparency, and uncomfortable customer service interactions. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone. I would go straight through the website and wait for the phone in the mail. You seem to have more refund...

In December of last year I upgraded my phone and in January it was stolen when I went to file a claim I was denied so after many calls to both boost and the insurance it led me no where. I couldn't cancel my phone because mine is the primary on a family plan. Plus i continued to pay my bill as well as the insurance even though i had no phone. Frustrated to thecpoint of tears. I decided to go to the store where I purchased the phone.the staff that works there Tina and Ernesto were always nice and helpful. Omar the District Managager as well as Robel the other Outstanding Manager work very hard on my behalf to resolve the issue as well as compensate me for my trouble. They were very patient with me through my frustrations and none gave up until they got to the bottom of the issue then came up with a solution.I rate them a 12 out of five stars of service because they went above and beyond for me and for that I am extremely grateful.
