Hair in my pizza and horrible customer service. Iām sad to write this since this used to be my go to in the Carrolwood area. My future hubby and I went here for dinner and ordered garlic knots and pizza. There was hair baked into the pizza so we told the waiter and they offered to make a new pizza. Unfortunately the first pizza had taken a long time to come out(it was a busy Friday night) and we had to pick up my daughter. We told the server we would return after, and she agreed and said her manager was aware and they would remember us. About an hour later, we ended up bringing another couple back with us and sat to order another pizza. Most people would have probably never been back after the hair incident, but we really liked this place and wanted to give it another chance. As we were waiting for our new pizza, the manager felt the need to tell our server to āmake sureā we paid for the first round of garlic knots- the $5 garlic knots we ordered and ate pre-hair in pizza. I found this very insulting and not in line with good customer service at all. If we had any intention of sneaking past the $5 garlic knots, would we have come back? And brought more customers? Not to mention our final bill was over $70. Considering your staff has allowed hair to be BAKED into the pizza, the most you can do is insult us by saying we need to āmake sureā we pay for the first round of garlic knots? I wish the story ended there, but it doesnāt. Clearly we were taken aback by this, so after paying our $70 bill and tipping our server 20%, we asked to speak to the manager. His name was Tony- he listened to our complaint and apologized. He asked for our address and email and promised to reach out. Again, at this point itās not about the money itās about there principle. He nor anyone from the company reached out. We wanted a couple months and every time we thought about going back we thought about this incident. Finally one day we went in to follow up. We were referred to the company supervisor who contacted us and again apologized and offered to make it right. We did get a certificateā¦for $5. Again, itās really not about the money but to me, given the series of event, itās like a laugh in the face. Thanks, guys, but you can keep your $5. It seems you have some growing to do in the area of customer service and I definitely do not want to drop another $70+ tip in a place where Iām not valued as a paying customer, not to mention a place where cleanliness is not on point. I just wanted everyone to know and remember this in case it happens to you, too! Still searching for a good pizza place in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh dang...did I just find my new favorite pizza place in Carrollwood? Yep! I had one of those wicked cravings a couple of weeks ago. You know the one - where you have to have the least healthy food immediately, and God Himself would be hard pressed to stand between you and that tasty treat. After checking around the area for pizza locations, I remembered seeing this one behind the Sweet Tomatoes and looked up their information. Knowing my cravings would soon begin their Jekyll/Hyde transformation, I made the call on a half cheese, half pepperoni and 10 wings (sauce on the side). Turn around time was very quick; I was able to pick up and return home within around 40 minutes (that's drive and cooking time remember).
Quick note about the inside of the restaurant: it looks nice. I'd eat in there if I lived further away from the place and didn't want to turn right around. Clean, not too bright or dark, nice decor. But you aren't eating the furniture so we'll continue.
The pizza was fantastic. The crust had just a little chew to it but with a nice crisp exterior. The cheese to sauce ratio was perfect and the sauce had a very nice flavor. Pepperoni had a nice spice to it and appropriately greasy.
The wings were also pretty great. I think they dust them with flour before frying them so make sure you ask just in case. They had a really nice crunch and the medium sauce was just the right amount of heat. I could definitely see myself gorging on just the wings and hating myself later for it .
Best NY Pizza is a pretty risky name for your restaurant, especially in a state with the seasonal migration of snowbirds from NY and the great white North. But, given my experiences in NY with various pizza joints, I'd say you've earned the right to name it as such (for FL anyway)....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely agree on the poor treatment of the customer. I go into BEST NY pizza for the 4th time. Having moved to this side of the town, I LOVE THIS PIZZA. HOwever, the customer service is like you are a dog. Last night, I wanted to get the pizza to go and take home. I like to wait for the pizza rather than leaving, so I can get it fresh, and still be somewhat fresh when I get home. Every pizza places till you 20 or 30 minutes when busy, and you know that they put the pizza sitting up on the heatear for most of that time, unless you are there. So I waited 10 minutes, and they tell me my pizza is ready but my Philly cheese steak is not. So I keep waiting, while they put my pizza on the heater. 10 minutes goes by. 20 minutes to make a sub? And my pizza losing freshness and getting old. I asked them and they say "sorry". NOthing else. A few more minutes goes by, and say this isn't right. I want to sit down and eat in at the restraurant so my food is still fresh. I go sit down, and wait to talk to a manager. He comes out, says he's sorry, and I wait 7 more minutes for my sub. NOTHING ELSE WAS SAID TO ME the whole time. The BEST PART? I had asked for extra cheese on my sub, and for the bread not to be toasted. When they brought out that sub??? It was with 4 slices of ICE COLD, completly hard slices sitting on top of my sandwich. I almost fell out of my booth. This was after on my 3rd visit when I was asked a waitress to bring me some melted garlic butter to dip my pizza in, she brought me a cup of cold hard butter, totally solid. I will not be back unless 1)someone explains this to me on facebook and 2) calls me and makes this right. I only wish I had taken a picture of those cold slices of cheese on my philly sub. Is everyone high?? C.W....
