I went to Glory Days last night and was completely blown away. I came with fifty of my friends and immediately felt welcome. Even in the midst of the crowd I brought, I felt valued and cared about. The manager, Dru, was absolutely incredible. He told us that he was going to have to sit us all separately (Which we planned on) and he told us how he was going to do it. He was very thankful for our business and was never short or angry. Always welcoming of our loud and obnoxious party of 50.
(Side note): The food was incredible.
Beyond the food and hospitality we received, there was a more prevelant reason for why Glory Days deserves 5 out of 5 stars. This reason goes by the name of Sam. Sam was my waiter for the night. When I first sat down, and when he came to our table, I knew he was going to be incredible. But throughout the entire night, Sam continued to impress. He was funny, quick, and smart. He knew about the menu, he knew about the food, he knew about waiting tables. He was an expert. Above all that Sam actually cared. By the end of the night, Sam and I were basically close personal friends. We had lots laughs and stories shared. He stayed at our table and talked about the office for 5m just to be engaging with us. As we were leaving, he pulled me aside and gave me literal life advice. It sounds weird to talk about a waiter on such a level, but it is true. He was genuinely incredible. Now, obviously we arenât close personal friends, in fact I had never seen his face before last night, but everyone left our table last night with the same feeling, âWow. Sam was the best.â
This incredible service from Sam and Dru is what makes Glory Days 5 out of 5. In my opinion, Glory Days should be 46 out of 5, but it only goes up to five for me.
I wish I could stress the genuine sincerity I write with. Sam was literally the best waiter Iâve ever seen. By far, hands down. No one comes close, and Iâve seen some great waiters. I eat out all the time, and in many different cities. Sam, from Glory Days in Tampa on Dale Mabry, is by far the best.
I highly recommend you go to Glory Days and ask for Sam. I promise you will not be disappointed.
PS - If any managers see this, PLEASE give Sam a raise. I write with passion because Sam deserves a high position. Hes incredible. a hard worker. An effective worker. Please give him a big raise. He...
Read moreI went to Glory Days late at night with approximately 50 of my friends. While most restaurants get overwhelmed and stressed with that many people showing up to a restaurant at the same time, Glory Days did not fret. They clearly communicated how they were going to seat us all, and eventually got us all seated. They straight-up told us that we would have to wait a little while in order to prevent overworking the kitchen. Yet, it was worth the wait because of the service we received when we sat down. Our serverâs name was Sam, and he was one of the best servers I have ever seen. Not only was he efficient at his job, but he would interact and talk to us like he was genuinely interested in my friends and I. He would crack jokes with us, talk about The Office with us, etc. He did so many things well, and he made this experience at Glory Days great. What made his performance even more impressive, though, was what he did as we were leaving. As we were leaving, he pulled my brother aside and gave him some advice to always stay true to his word. Never before had I seen a server at a restaurant truly care about his clients. I could go on and on and on about how well Sam did, but this review would be too long if I did so. The Manager who Sam works under was named Dru. He patiently and effectively worked out how to seat all 50+ of us, and did a great job of making sure we were having a good time. Overall, if you are looking for a restaurant that hires servers who care about the clients such as Sam did, Glory Days is the place for you. If you are looking for great discounts after 10 PM, Glory Days is the place for you. If you are looking for quality food, Glory Days is the place for you. Because of Sam and he service, I would rate this experience at Glory Days 6 stars out of...
Read moreI visited this establishment with my family on a Thursday night. We had a party of seven. For large parties, the establishment has two large round tables and were both being used when we arrived. They told us that it would be about 30 minutes before a table came up. As they were updating us, they were telling us that the previous party was hanging around and had not paid their check. In the meantime, I observed that it was possible to combine tables, in which, our party would have been accommodated. One hour later, we finally were seated. The hostess and the waiter were courteous and friendly. The hostess was apologetic for the delay and did offer drinks to our party before being seated. However, we were not even offered a complementary appetizer for the long wait. We order the brisket nachos to start. The nachos were tasty, but unfortunately, due to amount of sauce, the chips became soggy and of course were difficult to lift. As for the entrees, they were delicious. It almost made the wait worth it. The ribs were tender and peeled off the bones nicely. I wish they had sauces to offer to put over the ribs, but they didn't offer any or didn't have it. The sweet potato was delicious. Overall, because of the food and the staff, I will most likely return and do recommend it to others. The long wait ruined the...
