We have been eating at (getting take out) from this location since it opened, and for the first few years it was excellent. We had no problems. However, within the last year it seems like every 3rd to 4th time we get takeout it is terrible. Last night was just the most recent example. We ordered 2 Ginger broccoli w/chicken and a chicken Lo Mein. We have ordered these before many times. The Ginger Broccoli was not made like it usually is. The sauce was very thick (closer to jelly consistency) and didn't taste the same. The Lo Mein had so much garlic that I sill taste it this morning. I called about the Ginger Brocolli and the girl offered to remake them both. So I took our two back up there with the assumption that I would trade them in and be on my way quickly so that I could eat my LoMein (we live close by) while still warm. Normally, when these things happen restaurants expedite the remake. They didn't and mine was just added in as another order. So I stood there for about 20 mins and waited while my food at home got cold. The Ginger Broccoli remake was no better than the originals. The time before they gave us spring rolls that has exploded and burned in the fryer. They have been having a consistency problem with both the food and service as I have been in there many times on a weeknight around dinner time and the lines were long and the wait times too. It seems that they are continually understaffed or misjudging "crunch" times. We had given up on this location for about 6 months because of problems and recently came back. It seems they still have not fixed the issues. We are giving up again. I don't know that we will be back this time even though we have a free entree on our rewards card. Sad Sad. There are too many good restaurants in the area. We don't need...
Read moreI wasn't impressed with the food. It's been a while since I've eaten at Pei Wei, but I remember it being flavorful. Unfortunately, the meat wasn't of a good quality, as I purchased the beef with broccoli. I originally wanted the Korean barbecue, but it was listed as spicy. I had my 2-year-old with me, and he loves broccoli, so that's why I purchased it. The rice was not fresh, it tasted like old rice, and to be quite honest, I'm not really fond of rice, so it has to be cooked well for me to even want to eat it. The beef was really chewy and fatty and it barely had any sauce on it all the sauce went to the bottom of the rice and it wasn't that flavorful and the broccoli was undercooked so it was very hard for my grandchild to actually chew the broccoli but he likes broccoli so much he endured it other than that the service was great I don't remember the gentleman's name but he was super cordial because I had ordered from the wrong location as so with that saying I came in looking for my order and it was not there he explained to me that his location can be confused with another location which is quite a distance down the road so he canceled that order for me as a matter of fact I probably need to follow up and make sure that I was refunded that money because I paid again at this location I'm going to try to give it another chance as it is in close proximity of my new home and I consider it healthy food rather than eating McDonald's or Burger King if I'm out with my grandchild I would prefer him to eat something of substance instead of the standard hamburger and fries not to say that I don't give that to him periodically but i feel like a better person if I'm giving...
Read moreTLDR; Don't order from here for catering. They held my food hostage claiming I didn't pay even though I was told the payment was processed and asked when I was coming to pick up the food. They were extremely unprofessional.
I suggest that you never order catering from this place as a USF affiliate. I placed my order with the business and went through the usual process of getting it paid for. They required that payment be received at least two days before the day of the event. I was not informed of this when I was placing the order or I would have relayed that ASAP to the payment administrator. The woman in charge of catering did allow the order to be paid for the day before the event, and that was where the professionalism and understanding of this business went out of the window. On the day of the event I got a phone call from the people picking the food up that the order hadn't been paid for. Meanwhile, I had received a text message from the catering manager that the order had been paid for the previous day and it would be able to be picked up. I told the manager this and he said I needed to give him the card number or the food could not be taken from the restaurant. I told him that the food had been paid for and that I had the text messages to prove it, and that he needed to get with his catering manager to get the card information. He hung the phone up on me. Long story short, these people need a real lesson in how to conduct business. I'll make it a point to never order food from this business again and to let all of the student organizations and USF departments I oversee that they should not cater...
