I've been looking forward to this establishment opening and I was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and pleasant, chatty without overstaying their welcome. The meads were delicious and varied, and the beers were local or regional. Seating inside was cozy but well-spaced, and outdoor seating was generous. The music ran a great playlist of new and classic rock; "Sympathy for the Devil" rolled as we soaked up the warm spring breeze on some robust metal chairs. Their were even some very diesel benches and stools along the building, trying to maximize the space. Street parking was ample, just pull around the corner and sidle along the curb, but watch the cobblestones if you're sporting heels. Their house mead, "The Muse," was light and sweet, a glass of afternoon sunshine offering a floral bouquet with hints of licorice, reminiscent of Sambuca. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. Overall, the ambiance here is casual and secluded-- great for a date where you've lost three hours chatting before you even realize it. It's a treasure in the downtown space that I hope we get to enjoy for years to come. Why not go buy drink and help make sure that happens.

Wonderful first experience. Tucked away off of Madison Ave, it'd be hard to miss if it weren't for the huge beautiful mural on the one side of the building. Friendly, knowledgeable bartender and easy to talk to about the variety of meads available. I got a flight and loved the variety of flavors. They ranging from honey sweet, dry and spicy! Quiet metal music playing in the background added to the Viking/Grecian vibe. Cool to hear the history of the building. A great addition to the neighborhood. Looking forward to going back.

Very nice place to try some different kinds of mead. Very clean and staff very polite. Was my 1st time here. The bartender Ray was very helpful to tell me about all the different types of drinks. I must have tried 5 or 6 different types. There were two or three I really liked. I will be back to try some more again for sure.. nice to know that they have gluten free drinks for the people that can not have gluten.

I saw the Bull and Bee tasting table I tried some “sweet Meade” delicious! (They were set up at the Albany, capitol, concourse, farmers market)

I was invited to come the tasting room just a few blocks away later that evening. A friend of mine was coming to visit the Albany area that night and we were looking for a “good time, experience” to enjoy together. This was perfect!

We started our night at the Bull and Bee tasting room. We ordered flights of Meade, we tried a bunch of flavors. We tried Coffee, spicy, sweet, classic… and more. Amazing! And delicious!

Upon entering the tasting room, we were greeted by the bartender/owner Ray. An amazing and welcoming soul. We got to talking about the different flavors that they offer and their bottling process. Right from the beginning we were treated as though we were already friends/family and felt like we had known each other for years.

Stopping at the bull and bee and starting our night here was a catalyst beginning to one of the best nights I have had in years, there was a concert venue just down the street that was having a metal show which complemented the mead that we had purchased from the tasting room perfectly.

I came back the very next day and bought a couple bottles.

Delicious product, highly recommended. Perfect location, warm inviting...

Note this review is based on a Yelp sponsored event

The bar is located in downtown Albany tucked away in a corner intersection of Hamilton and Phillip St. The bar is in a historic building know as Bulgaro building where fights similar to MMA were hosted.

Everytime Caitlin, community manager hosts an event, I learn something new. I had no clue what a Mead was, Mead is a fermented beverage traditionally made from honey, water and a yeast or bacterial culture. Sometimes called "the drink of the gods", I got to try the Zeus juice and Jalapeño mead.

While I don't drink, I got to taste mead, and this is similar to kombucha, with an ABV at ~13%. With some drinks there was salad and pizza from Cafe Capriccio which was amazing.

May be when my friends or cousins come over I'll bring them here to taste some local mead.

The bartenders were friendly, helpful and...
