Grabbed lunch here the other day, and here's my impression. Fusion seems to be a bit of an choice of a name. It's mostly traditional Chinese and Thai style take out items, along with Cheeseburgers, salads and a small menu of Columbian style platters. More like a mini food court.
Parking seems to be a bit of a challenge. I managed to grab a small spot on the street, and not sure if there is off street parking available paid or unpaid.
Moo goo pan I ordered was good. It's a bit different than most versions. The include shrimp in the dish, which is a bit odd considering moo goo gai pain literally means sliced mushrooms with chicken. I ordered this dish as it's a fairly good indicator of a restaurants use of fresh quality ingredients. It's a delicate flavor that doesn't easily mask poor quality food. Knife work was a bit different than usual. The chicken was quite thick, maybe about 1/3rd to 1/2 inch thick. Mushrooms a bit scant. Dish contains carrots, baby bok choy, snow peas, julienned bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, chicken, mushroom, shrimp and nicely flavored with fresh garlic, ginger, white pepper and rice wine. Price came to $18 plus tip. About $2-$4 more than average but was an above average...
Read moreMy husband, our adult son and I stopped in to Fusion Asian Cuisine to celebrate this little restaurant's one-year anniversary. We were each presented with a complimentary bowl of soup--to call it merely "chicken noodle soup" would be a disservice to the myriad of fresh ingredients within. The menu has an interesting array of dishes--Asia and South America are represented and for diners who don't care for either, there are also burgers. We dithered to the extent that the lovely young woman (Rachel) who served us offered to bring us a selection of the items in which we had expressed interest. Wow. The food came out quickly and the chef/proprietor, Maung Win, hit it out of the park. The dumplings! The ribs! The Mongolian beef with noodles! The crispy tofu with broccoli and onions! Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. The prices are more than reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food, and bless them--they use cloth napkins. The interior is cozy, small and immaculately clean and it's obvious how much hard work and pride have gone into...
Read moreFound this beautiful quaint and relaxing gem in Albany across from Washington Park on Madison Avenue and had a great time enjoying the delicious authentic food and great conversation with the owner, Win, and hearing his story about opening this bar and restaurant and their upcoming one year anniversary on April 27th. He will be making his special traditional rice noodle soup which he has won awards for and giving it away for the anniversary celebration, so show up and join the celebration with us. It's really hard for many restaurants to stay open during these hard economic challenging times so we need to support local restaurants so they can stay open and survive the volatile economic state we're in. Thank You, Win, for welcoming me into your beautiful restaurant and taking time to talk with me about the history and accomplishments of your beautiful place. I will be back, and will bring others to support You. Keep up the great work, delicious menu choices, and don't be disheartened, things are going to get better....
