La Polleria — Restaurant in City of Albany

In my case, I had a group of 4 to feed with a $50 gift certificate. I bought a $38 mega combo and a beef quesadilla. The quantity of food was exceptional and the quality was also excellent. The chicken was properly cooked and had very tasty flavor spiced the Peruvian way. The sliced hot dogs with french fries were interesting. The salad looked sloppy but it was good & fresh. I think a "must try" would be the fried plantain - each was about 1/3 the size of a banana and a little sweet. The beef quesadilla was good but seemed to be lacking, maybe a spicy cheese sauce would kick it up. As far as feeding four. . . . $50 can far exceed that here. It was a pretty big bird and the portions on everything were very generous. What I purchased could have fed six easily and even eight. We have plenty of leftovers. We did take out but there is limited seating at the restaurant. It is not fast food so expect 15-25 minutes for a full meal like this. Surely, some items would be quicker...

I try to support local businesses so this was my experience.

1st visit: Take out, food was really good, cooked well nicely seasoned. Quick and packaged well.

2nd visit: Take out, (tried to call but phone wasn't picked up) food was ok, not as carefully prepared as before and felt sort of thrown in bag after a looong wait with other upset customers

3rd visit: 4:30 after work, music too loud for a small store, and staff seemed not interested in being there. I did not want to order this time. Also not as clean as I'd like for a place I order food from.

They make good food, and have a perfect location, but they need to focus on customers, and cleanliness. They had a good start I hope things improve so I...

I had a wonderfully delicious experience here today! I ordered something that was not on the menu and the staff went above and beyond to make it happen for me. I wish I took a picture of my food before I devoured it. It was unexpected in taste from what I have eaten at other Peruvian restaurants. Their green sauce looked different but it tasted absolutely amazing! I would very much recommend this spot. I had lomo saltado but with chicken. They didn't have the chicken ready for this dish (since it's not on their menu) so they cut it up for me fresh. It was quiet when I went in around 2p so I might have gotten...
