Uncommon Grounds Coffee & Bagels — Restaurant in City of Albany

Had an incident where I asked about the status of my order because I had been waiting for some time, to which they responded by handing me a bag that had been sitting in the back counter. After digging in, it became patently clear that they handed me some random sandwich to shoo me away. Except when I returned to explain the situation, their response was to stand there chastising me for having tried the food, because it is apparently the onus of the customer to inspect their food before taking a bite.

The people ordering and picking up are constantly in each other's way, and from the outside it certainly looks like the staff also doesn't have any room to manuver. The bagels are significantly different than the other UC locations. I love their bagels, but at this location, they fail to put on the appropriate amount of cream cheese and even toast them properly.

Staff is particularly unwelcoming, and rude! It’s disappointing, because I know how good this brand can be elsewhere. Hopefully management takes steps to bring the Empire Plaza location up to the same standard...
