This being the 3rd time I would be at this restaurant (the first 2 times food was awesome) I talked my friends into going here! My mistake the food was AWFUL the worst, I ordered a taco salad (which I had had before) and it had 1/2 inch of water in it there was only taco meat (which tasted like dog food) lettuce and tomatoes with a very small dollop of guacamole last time I had this same dish there were onions, black olives and I was also served salsa with this. Taco salad was inedible besides the face it showed up 15 min before everyone elses food . The 3 others that were with me ordered steak and shrimp 2 of the plates each got 4 shrimp and the other got 5 not enough for the price, the steaks were suppose to be rib eye but it was carne asada very thin and not good tasting. The steak for one of my friends was too tough to chew. We did complain to the management and she took the cost of 1 dinner off but ignored the fact that all of the meals were not edible. We had also ordered Guacamole, jalapenos, and tortillas to snack on before the meal and none if it ever showed up. The waiter avoided out table like we had the plegue and when we finaly did get his attention he still didn't bring what we asked for. Very Very bad service!! I will NEVER NEVER go back to Rancho Viejo Mexican Restaurant again and if you are looking for suggestions I would suggest you not even bother going there you get better more "authentic" mexican food going to Taco Bell and I don't even like Taco Bell!!!! Stay away far...

Prior to this last visit, we had good food and service which moved us to choose this site for my daughter's 15th birthday. We had about 100 people, including children. They did not provide us with enough space or seating. Our food was not ready on time. Some of our guests waited 2-3 hours for their plate of carne asada. It was overcooked and dry. My guests were given plastic tableware, They could not even cut the meat. In one case, they asked for knives and were told: THEY WERE BEING SAVED FOR THE PAYING CUSTOMERS! We had 2 hours of open bar. They did not tell our guests about this, and, some of our guests did not even get their complimentary drinks. The head table was too small. I NEVER had a place to sit. My daughter and her damas were served last! They never gave me time to decorate. I put out the adornos while the guests were sitting there already. There were other people sitting in our area dining. What a MESS! At the end of it all, they had us pay in cash, charged us tax, and demanded a 20% tip! You know they are not going to report that on their income tax for 2012! Plus, they spoiled my baby's...

New review. They don't care about customers. They will let you sit for long waiting periods when you ordered way ahead of time. It's happened to me 4 times now and I am over it. The food is sub par anyhow. I work hard and try to support local business but this is it. Sorry guys. Also, while waiting, 3 customers have had to come all the way back because they were given the wrong order. They are now arguing with a customer as I write this and she did NOTHING wrong. She was missing food. Nice service!

The food is good but the service is terrible almost everytime. I keep giving them chances but can't do it it after 4 bad experiences. They do not care if you are standing there waiting. Tonight 4 members of the wait staff walked by me as I stood waiting for my take out order with money in hand. No one had the guts to just tell me it wasn't ready even though it had been 30 minutes since I called and I was quoted 20. Also, the tamales are big but they are all Masa with the tiniest bit of meat in the middle. I gave brought it up to them before but again,...

First time customers! And enjoyed ourselves immensely. Restaurant very colorful and lively. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Delicious warm chips and mild salsa delivered to our table fast. We ordered guacamole. Creamy goodness! We ordered Carnitas plate. Came with rice, refried beans, pico de Gallo. Sautéed onions and a generous portion of succulent pork. So delicious! Tacos Diablo Three tacos steak & Mexican sausage taco's. Serves with onions and cilantro on the side with their special sauce & lime. Again very generous portions. We topped off our meal with homemade Flan that was made to perfection. This was our first visit, but it will not be our last. Pricing was very good. Thank you for business done well. See you again soon

I have been to my fair share of Mexican restaurants around the Rochester area but this was pleasantly a nice surprise! The food I has was awesome and absolutely delicious! I ordered a taco salad and two burritos one chicken one beef and it came with rice and beans, I have never been more satisfied with my meal! Our waiter was very friendly and so helpful for our first time there! We ordered churros for dessert and they were so soft, succulent and sweet! Filled with caramel and covered with cinnamon and so great! I am more than pleased with the experience I had! Definitely planning on coming back next time I'm in Batavia!

The restaurant is perfect. First thing caught my eyes is the atmosphere, very nice decoration with Mexico style. The Mexico music is also charming. Regarding the food, it’s also perfect. We tried two dishes, grilled shrimp salad and Quesadilla. Although the grilled shrimp leaned toward salty, pairing it with crisp cucumber and creamy avocado balanced the flavor beautifully. The quesadilla—filled with juicy mixed meats and melted cheese—was even better when paired with dipping sauces. Only thing is service level, they even mixed our bill with the other table!
