Valās Diner is an eating establishment designed for those who want a quick breakfast or lunch served with a smile. I dined here one morning during a beer tour of Central New York and I found much to like about this simple yet nice restaurant establishment.
First, letās talk about the location because it is unique. Valās Diner is located inside a bus terminal, making it a popular option for travelers as they arrive from a bus excursion or right before they depart. I like how they have the bus schedule announcements right inside the restaurant. You can hear them on the speaker, which is perfect for those who want to grab a bite to eat but donāt want to have to worry that they might miss their bus.
Next, the atmosphere. It is a diner in every sense and it has that look one associates with this type of restaurant. The sky blue colored walls, checkered tile floors, and bar stools without back supports are just what you expect in a diner. There isnāt a ton of seating, but because it is part of a bus terminal, I canāt imagine it ever gets extremely busy.
I was here for breakfast and I ordered an omelet, toast, and home fries. The food was served relatively quickly and it tasted fresh and good. The jelly is served in packets and I added a dab to my toast along with a small amount of catsup on my fries. I finished the entire contents of my plate in a short time and left feeling satisfied.
Diners are not as common as other types of restaurants, but they exude a certain charm and make a nice change of pace from the usual restaurant. Valās Diner is a cool place for breakfast or lunch and great for those who are traveling by bus and need something to eat. Even if youāre not using the bus terminal, Valās Diner is a good place for a simple meal and Iām glad I discovered this friendly diner here in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was delivering an Uber Eats order. When I entered the restaurant, it seemed like no one was in there and I could not find the food. I thought maybe someone is in the restroom, so I waited about 5 minutes. Proceeded to knock on the door and a lady responded āyesā, so I waited a little longer. About 10 minutes pass, she comes out and I say āhelloā. Iām completely ignored. She goes to the kitchen for a few and then comes back to the counter to get something and I inform her that Iām picking up an order. With an attitude she responded, āIām not the waitress. Someone will come and help you. Iām the chef and I donāt work up thereā. I wait for more time until the lady (assumed she was the āwaitressā) walks in through the door. I was the one to greet her and told her I had been waiting for a while. There was no sense of urgency and professionalism from this establishment.
Note: a lot of the pictures and reviews for this establishment are not for the restaurant currently there and being...
