My son told me I had to get pizza here, that it would bring me back to my downstate roots. So I ordered a large sausage and a large buffalo chicken for my office staff for lunch today.
The sausage was incredible. Chef Paul makes his sausage from scratch - I don't think anyone else in a sixty mile radius can make this claim. It's almost unkind to call it a pizza - the nuanced interplay of flavors and spices fired off my "fine-dining brain center" instead of my "pizza center."
I have never been a buffalo chicken pizza fan - the heat is always over-the-top stupidly hot, with Frank's or Tabasco, and there is no "interplay." This pizza was was great - chicken with both heat and depth; subtle cheese; and the celery was a master stroke! Don't remove it even if you hate celery, you will be missing vital texture!
The pizza dough of both pies is the best I have tasted in thirty years living outside NYC, and the best I have ever tasted outside of Brooklyn. I normally have 6-7 pieces of the dish pizza from the local joints. I was so full after two slices I could not eat another. And unlike any pizza I've ever had in Bingo - I didn't regret eating it an hour later. Probably because the ingredients are fresher and more natural than I've ever had in a pizza.
Haute cuisine without the haute price - just call it "haute pizza"!
Five chef-hat stars to Chef Paul and Henry and the rest...
Read moreTerrible service… Called to order a pizza before noon since they open at noon and was hoping to pick it up around then since you know that’s lunch time. No answer since they aren’t technically open yet, fine. Called again at noon almost 40 min pick up time. I apologized and said I wouldn’t be able to do that but thank you. Condescendingly was asked what a good time for me would be. Before I could answer to say hey it’s fine I can’t wait that long as I gotta get back to work, I was cut off and told “MAM! We are never going to be a place you can call and get a pizza in 15-20min we have a line out the door. Ok then. Your pizza isn’t near good enough for a 35-40 min wait. That’s cool, their business is now a place I will never call and get food from. Not the first experience here where they(or he) act like they are too good for your business and several others I know have had similar experiences. But is definitely my last. Figured it’s right here I’ll give it one more go. Good thing they have a line out the door of other customers who are willing to deal with the rudeness. I’m sorry you're bothered to have customers and be in business, maybe consider closing if you wanna treat your people who want to business with you...
Read moreA great Pizza, but consider carrying it out as dine-in space is limited!
We decided to order Paul & Sons pizza for the first time for dinner over the weekend. A bunch of local social media groups have extremely positive things to say about Paul & Sons so we had to give it a try. It did not disappoint.
We ordered 2 pizzas for carryout on a Saturday night around 8 pm. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a specialty tomato basil pizza.
Everybody has their own opinion on what they would consider the best pizza, and while I personally would likely not put Paul and Sons at the top of my personal favorite list, it is definitely going on the list as both pizzas were hot and delicious! The crust of these pizzas were more floppy than crispy, the sauce has a bit of tang to it and the crust had flavor, which is a huge positive over pizza joints that have crust that tastes like cardboard.
Overall we will certainly be ordering from Paul and Sons again and we will likely continue down the list of...
