I've been here once before for All You Can Eat Monday, and had no issues at all. It was a good deal, with good service and a good environment. However, this time around was a completely different story. This was the worst customer service I've ever had, EVER. We waited 20 minutes just to get menus. They didn't have enough of them printed, but failed to communicate with each other about who needed to print it which caused more waiting. Once we finally put in our first set of orders, they didn't think to mention that they weren't offering Unagi as part of the deal because it was "too expensive". So why have it on the menu? And if they printed new menus, shouldn't they have been updated ones? All the workers, besides the chef, were moving at such a slow pace and would disappear for long periods of time. It wasn't even that busy, which I would understand why we weren't be served as quickly if it was crowded. But even the chef began yelling at one of the waitresses in front of everyone and was the one to remind the waitresses that we still needed menus after waiting the 20 minutes. There was also a period where he was saying he had no plates to serve the sushi when he was done preparing it, and that we could see the sushi waiting on the bar to be given to us. All the workers were just very unorganized and seemed confused. The waitress also just completely forgot to put in one of our last orders. She claimed she brought it out, and then I had to explain to her she didn't. She then realized and made sure to make a side comment that, "all uneaten sushi is a $2 charge each". I am extremely disappointed and definitely will not be giving them my service ever again. What made it even worse is than when we got the check at the end, they automatically added 18% gratuity, which they did not deserve at all. Also, we were a group of 5 and I'm not sure if this is universal, but isn't gratuity only added automatically when the table is a group of 6 or more? Also, the only person I would have tipped a decent amount would be the chef. I always tip my servers at least 18%, so this isn't common of me to want to tip low. But again, THIS WAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER...
Read moreI really wanted to like it. I read the reviews, and it seemed like they may be unfair.
Boy, how wrong I was.
Let us start with the sushi. Anyone who thought they knew fresh sushi after joyfully eating here is categorically wrong. It lacked that sweet seafood taste that I am accustomed to, even at the least expensive restaurants. There is a pride in making and serving it - there was none of that here.
The menu does not state that their ramen does not include beef or chicken. Then there is a massive surcharge for beef or chicken. And it tastes like they had put a packet of instant ramen in it. Not like the hearty, balanced bowls we have had in the past at different areas. It was salty, and well, tasted like beef powder instead of broth.
Lastly, the service was miserable. Miserable. The girl just shrugged and said "That's my boss's rule" re: ramen; badmouthed her boss to her colleagues. I ordered this one last bit of sushi hoping it was more edible (we were traveling and starving). It took us to ask for the bill to get the sushi. We were waiting twenty minutes. It was sooooo slowwwww in the restaurant; we couldn't figure out what was taking so long. There were only two other customers.
I should have sent the gross salmon back. And we got charged gratuity in top of this.
We tip at places where bare minimum, they do their job pleasantly. We tip extra at places where they are kind and very busy. We tip at places where the waitress checks in to see how you are doing and refills your glass- none of...
Read moreMy wife and I and our 2 kids went there for our anniversary. 1. They left front door open it it was cold. Weather was 45-5 degrees. We sat 15 feet from the door. It took 10 mins for some water. 4 people, 3 straws and 3 slices of lemon. Alc bev took 20 mins. Mixed drink was fine. I got a bottle of sake, they brought a glass instead. Our kids were gonna eat ramen. They ran out. Then we ordered Thai short rib nachos, they ran out. We ordered another thing instead, they also ran out. Wife ordered drunken noodles to hopefully split that with the kids so they won’t starve. Drunken noodles had only noodles and no other ingredients to be seen. The noodles were cooked only 10% so it was still crunchy super chewy like plastic. So the kids could not even eat any of it, so no food for the kids tonight. The crab fusion roll was fine. My $45 sashimi platter was subpar. Sticks of mango and imitation crab was weird. Sashimi pieces were cut chunky and wasn’t appetizing. The lime piece used for presentation was old and discolored. If the lime was old, imagine the quality of the raw fish! They forgot to charge us for the mixed drink so I told them to charge me. I still tipped them 20% and neither kids ate. We ordered Chinese and picked it up on our wat back. $112 spent for a bad anniversary experience. Japanese food. Specifically sushi and sashimi have to be fresh, high quality and precise in preparation. I hope...
