I was hoping not to write this!!! I LOVED it here several years back! I made a BIG hype about this place! My daughter just couldn’t wait to go!! “Waitress was very nice!! I grew up in Germany! Many parts of Germany! So we start- appetizer-potatoe pancakes were WAY over cooked, they over fried! So hard!My schnitzel was over cooked and flavor was missing my daughter had same comment for her food! The potato salad had WAY TOO MUCH vinegar and it just did not taste good!! $75 for the two of us to NOT ENJOY or partially enjoy meal was hard to “swallow” we have been looking forward to eating there for quite some time but they were not open on her days off! We finally go and after BOTH said McDonald’s would have been better(I RARELY eat at McDonalds!)!! I was here 3/4 years ago and it was amazing! “ I’m still so shocked how AWFUL our meal was!! I tried to reach out but no response! Also we took dessert to go and :( it was very dry!! I hope some day to return and give it another try but not soon!!! So I was told I should have said something to them and I had! I was actually choking on potato pancake (because it was so hard!) and had also told waitress about food but she just smiled and walked away! I took it all home, what you see missing is all I ate it was THAT BAD! Well, I let my mother try her reaction was same! She just told me how disappointed she is! She actually was going to reserve for 22 ppl for dinner next month but after tasting what I brought home she was very happy she had not made reservations! It is a shame it was sooo good years ago!

This was a cute little restaurant that somehow we'd never been to before. We did make dinner reservations, as suggested, on the July weeknight we came, and it worked out well that we did. It was one of those super hot days that was in the 90's but the temp was comfortable inside. On more moderate evenings or days, the outside seating was set up nicely. Our server/waitress was friendly and helpful and our food came out in a reasonable timeframe. My three guys all raved about their snitzel and noodles (they saw fries in the pics but I guess they're not available this time of year) and I enjoyed my salad trio and the German version of mac n cheese. Hubby enjoyed his pint of beer, as well. Overall, they loved their food and mine was okay - I'm sure we'll be back at some point but the bill was honestly higher I'd hoped for the 4 of us (even without any dessert), so it'll only be if they bring it up again. I think the food was great authentic German food - just found out it's not my favorite is all. I think if you like German food and eat out more than our admittedly cheap family tends to, you'll enjoy it - all of my friends rave about the place. :)

Rheinblick is quite simply the BEST German restaurant experience in the Greater Rochester area! Swan Market on Parsells Avenue is a wonderful place for lunch and is a fantastic meat market, but they do not have a dinner service available. It's a bit of a drive from Rochester (about 40 minutes or so in total), but it's worth every second on the road. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and the staff are very welcoming. Rheinblick has authentic beer imported right from Germany, and it's served ice cold in a beautiful stein. I highly recommend coming in on a Saturday for the Schweinshaxe special (the first photo)! The meat is very tender and perfectly seasoned! While I personally didn't care for the German potato salad (a bit too sweet for my taste), the Spaetzle, red cabbage, and mashed potatoes are all a knockout! The second photo is the Jägerschnitzel and the third photo is the Wienerschnitzel. All in all, this is a phenomenal family-owned German restaurant that I eagerly await going back to!

I first went here a few years ago for a quiet afternoon meal. I remember it as a good experience. But when I went back this week with my mother, we were given a rather cool and very formal reception by a lady with an authoritative air whom I assume to be the manager or owner. We didn't realize we should've had reservations, but the woman "graciously" accommodated us at a 2 person table. The place was EXTREMELY loud. Although my mother and I leaned across the little table, practically yelling with our heads about 14 inches away, we strained to hear each other. This was partly from the number of people in the space, but also because of one particularly loud and seemingly inebriated woman whom we could hear from across the restaurant. I had hoped for an enjoyable dinner to visit with my mother but it was impossible. We also wondered if the acoustics contributed to the sound problem. ----- I don't remember the prices exactly from a few years ago, but I think they've risen. Either way they're too high. I appreciate an authentic restaurant but, I'm sorry, dressing your servers in cute German dresses doesn't mean you can charge $25 for a mediocre meal. The menu is FULL of pork, with some beef, and only one chicken dish. Forget it if you're a vegetarian. My only option was a pair of appetizers: a salad which was dry and not fresh, and I couldn't even force half of it down; and a spätzle which was tasty, although it was basically swimming in butter. More variety in the menu would be appreciated. I'm certainly not going back if I can only eat one thing on the whole menu, and that just an appetizer. ---- The service was timely, especially since they were so busy. Not everything was correct though - my mother asked for just water, no lemon; it came with a lemon in it. We both asked for our salad dressing on the side; we got it on the salad, and not much of it either. ---- In short, I will likely never return, and would not recommend...

I've debated leaving a review as I enjoyed the food the one time I've eaten here. I also like the nature of this restaurant and don't ever want to see anything bad happen to it. Honestly, when I've eaten here the food was amazing, the beer good, and the ambiance perfect. I leave this review for 2 reasons. 1. If you are reading this, I hope you go and enjoy the food, but don't have high expectations for service. 2. If management reads these, maybe they can change or make a difference. I visited on a Wednesday mid-afternoon (2pm) to purchase a gift card. Another gentleman came in behind me. As we were standing there a waitress asked if she could help. I said I needed a gift card and the gentleman said he needed to make a reservation. She said we would just have to wait as she needed to serve a table. No problem. There were 3 or 4 tables of people in the restaurant. The waitress not only served the 1 table, but the went on to remove dishes from another table, fill waters at the other 2 tables, ask the table she served if they needed anything else, and then went to get those items. None of this was fast. Ok, if it was a few minutes. It was a total of 25 minutes. The guy behind me was grumbling the entire time. Doesn't anyone else work here? His words, my thoughts. Besides a cook (?) dressed in all black came out and did something at the POS system and went outside. At the 26 minute mark, another waitress lady came out from the back and asked if we needed help. We went through the same spiel again. She said she couldn't help me, I would just have to continue waiting for waitress #1, but she could help the gentleman with the reservation. After 40 minute from initial acknowledgment I got the gift card for a friend. Crazy service for a random...
