Nelly's Treats — Restaurant in City of Cohoes

We recently hosted our daughter’s 4th birthday party at Nelly’s Treats, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience! Our theme was Wicked, and Nelly absolutely nailed it—from the stunning, on-theme cake (which was as delicious as it was beautiful) to the perfectly curated cookie cutters (witch hats and crowns).

Nelly is not only incredibly organized, but she’s also absolutely fabulous with children. She masterfully managed a group of 15 kids ranging from ages 2 to 7—no small feat! Every single child was engaged, learned something about baking, and had so much fun doing it. Her calm, confident presence made everything run smoothly, and as a parent, it was such a relief to not have to lift a finger. I got to enjoy the day right alongside my daughter.

The party included homemade pizza, which was a huge hit with both kids and adults—it was fresh, tasty, and just added to the personalized touch that makes Nelly’s Treats so special.

The space itself is bright, beautiful, and incredibly versatile. You can bring in your own decorations to customize it, or leave it as-is—it’s lovely either way. I was genuinely super impressed with every detail, from start to finish.

I ordered a cake for my daughter’s sweet sixteen. We just moved here, and we were not sure where to order the cake from. So, when we came across this bakery and its perfect rating, we thought we hit the jackpot. However, we would be proven wrong. This was our first customized cake and our expectations were not high—but not low either. Unfortunately, as you can see, their performance made us wish we had lowered our expectations. My daughter was extremely excited for the design she picked out, but we were all disappointed when we saw the result. It looked like it was rushed. We thought it was such a simple design that couldn’t be messed up. They changed the design a lot, including not doing the whole top of the design and not painting the leaves of the very few strawberries they did decide to put on the side of the cake. The cake was also cracked from the sides. They also had the audacity to put little dollops randomly with real strawberries to “make up” for their lack of effort. The taste did not make up for the appearance either. It was quite sugary and the texture was wet. We saw the other reviews for this bakery, and we can’t help but think that it was just a bad day. Very disappointed. Would not be purchasing from this...

We went to Nellys Treats to get a cake and cupcakes for my two year olds birthday. We try not to give her too much processed sugar so we discussed making a naked Encanto themed cake. the cake and cupcakes were vanilla with a blueberry filling. The cupcakes had a cream cheese frosting. When I tell you EVERYONE at our friend and family parties loved the cake and cupcakes including my two year old. She devoured the cupcakes. The cake had some beautiful regular decorations and I found it to be the perfect amount out sweet. Also the size of the cake was huge. So I ended freezing some of the cake and still enjoy it with some coffee when I want a treat. Thank you Nellys Treats for making the perfect sweets for our little girls birthday.
