The Daisy is a cute chic taco and margarita place. The tacos are fusion, they have a bulgogi one with kimchi and a fried chicken and a coconut shrimp one plus others. Not authentic Mexican tacos but stills delicious. Classy place.
The margaritas are strong! I saw a sign for buy one get one margaritas on Wednesdays. They have a decent amount of tables even though it’s a small place, there is a back room with more tables.
The servers were attentive and friendly.
The coconut margarita was creamy and I liked the coconut shreds on the rim. Margaritas and tacos are all around $13. Tacos come with 2. Bill can definitely add up but it’s worth it. Great environment to catch up with friends.
The chip appetizer with pico de gallo was delicious. The chips had a great crisp, they tasted deep fried. Perfectly salted. I liked my coconut shrimp tacos the best. 2 big meaty shrimp in each taco, crunchy and cooked well and the pineapple in it gave it a nice sweetness. The fried chicken tacos were a mix of dark and light meat chunks, which were very tender and soft. Though a bit too soft for my likening of chicken texture. And the sauce has a very strong cilantro flavor.
If I’m in the area again I would love to come back and try other tacos and...
Read moreI see the other positive reviews and I wonder if I went to the same place. We were visiting our daughter and went here on one of her friends recommendation. The service was absolutely terrible and the food was mid at best. It took 25 minutes for our food to START coming out and I emphasize start. My daughter's boyfriend's food came out first then six minutes later my daughter's food, five more minutes passed until mine came out then another five minutes for my wife's food totaling sixteen minutes between first and last plate. Nothing from the waitstaff except a brief 'oh yeah, sorry', our waitress didn't come back to see how our food was, didn't see if we wanted more drinks. I got the chicken sandwich which was... fine. Better than fastfood but absolutely nothing special, my wife got the French dip special and it was terrible. The meat was supposed to be filet mignon (it wasn't) it was incredibly gamey, and the au jus tasted like boxed beef stock with a ton of extra salt. Overall I feel like this place is very much style over substance, if you want to take a cute IG shot then it's probably for you, otherwise there is better...
Read moreI wanted to love this place, but it missed the mark. First, the good stuff. The restaurant itself was nice - small but trendy, good music playing. The waitstaff was excellent - very attentive getting you seated, taking your order and checking back to see if you needed anything. The menu selection was varied offering something for every taste and the food was beautiful on the plate. Unfortunately, the food and beverages were hit or miss. The beer selections, we tried two, were tasty and highly rated, $7-$8 per serving. Unfortunately, the Elderflower Collins, $12, was flat and heavy on the lemon - couldn’t taste any of the elderflower liquor. My husband loved the Korean tacos, but we both agreed that the crab toast was bland and uninspired. Bland crab atop bland acabado mash which left a heavy celery/garlic/mayo aftertaste. The plates are a good portion for a small plate, but generally overpriced. We wouldn’t recommend this place. Too many other places in Cohoes and Troy with excellent...
