It has been a year since we had been in here because our last experience we weren't impressed. Maybe our timing is bad but today 4/6/24 we decided to give it another try and unfortunately it was another bad experience, we sat at a booth after the bartender said to go ahead and seat ourselves and about 5 minutes later a waitress came by and asked if we had menu's and proceeded to give us a couple, we ordered a pizza because we didn't feel like having a full meal and I told my wife i was going to eat at least 5 slices id the pizza was good. Well when the pizza came, one side had higher and thicker crust ( with somewhat burnt edges) and the other side looked like a thin crust pizza. I figured it was hand made so I can understand that sometimes they aren't perfect. When I tried to pic a piece up, it was like a limp noodle, crust wasn't crispy and seemed barely browned. The taste wasn't anything to write home about and then I said to my wife, for a freshly cooked pizza, it wasn't even hot enough to burn my mouth and honestly seemed like it had the temperature of a pizza that sat out for about 15-25 minutes after it had come out of the oven and not under a hot plate. The cheese was melted but not hot and the sauce wasn't even close to burning lips. I was hungry so i ate a couple peices and that was all i could choke down and when the waitress in passing asked how it was and I told her its barely past the warm stage and I was not impressed by the taste, she said oh sorry and put the bill down and walked away from our table. I told my wife, well we gave it another chance, maybe if they are still open in a year from now, we might give it another. Its unfortunate because when my kids were small we used to go here every other week because the food was delicious but for us, there are far better places for even a decent hot pizza. Hopefully your experience is better then ours if you try this place and it would be awesome if it could get back to the quality that it used to be, because everyone used to eat there because it...
Read moreI had been contemplating as to where I wanted to get a pizza since I had the craving for a pizza for several days. I only tried the pizza at Talk of the town once around five years ago. Wow what a cold treatment when I walked through that door. No one said hello or welcome as I stood waiting for someone to notice me standing there. There was a female waitress who came in the direction twice but did not give me any recognition. Finally a young man appeared as if he was head to the kitchen and said hello have you been waited on? I said no and I explained to him that I ordered a pizza. I gave him my name and he went to the kitchen and the girl who took my phone order had my name written wrong but he went back and immediately reappeared with my pizza. He was walked me over to the bar and the bartender who had seen me come in and didn’t say boo to me and I paid for my order. I questioned the size of the pizza and he said that the place only sales one size. However, when I ordered it the girl on the phone explained to me that there were two sizes. I gave the young man a $5.00 tip for his great customer service. I gave the bartender my back as I walked out the door because the tip of the day for him was that he wasn’t getting one. The two ladies sitting at the bar could sense that I was not pleased with my visit and they both stated to me on my way out that the pizza was a great pizza. I turned to say I tried the pizza there once years ago and that I hope it’s still good. I wished them a good evening. I learned today that the best bang I received from this establishment for my money was the tip I gave the nice young man for his recognition of a customer regardless of the color of their skin. No worries, I’m not a fan of eating out. I don’t usually make promises, but I promise I will never set a foot in that...
Read moreWe tried dining in for the first time. From all the times we heard this establishments name we figured what the hell.. we ordered a cheese pizza which was great, chicken wings, side of fries, and Mac and cheese. Out of everything the pizza and fries were the only things we ate. The wings were breaded and very dry, almost no sauce. Their Mac and cheese was knock off Kraft from Dollar general with lumps of un-mixed cheese powder swirled in. I dropped my napkin on the floor and when I picked it up I noticed the space between the booth and the wall (between the seat and wall on the floor) was riddled with old food, garbage and straw wrapper ends as if it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. I tried to get the attention of my waiter multiple times to refill my Pepsi but I couldn't. Mind you we were sitting approximately 6 feet away from where the group of servers who seemed to be more concerned with the turn out of a baseball game that was on the bar television than making a refill run. After our waiter finally came over and saw that we didn't touch the mac and cheese or the wings and that we wanted our check, he asked if we didn't like those two dishes (which we both pointed out reasons why we were dissatisfied" and he didn't offer to take the full dishes off our bill or even give us a minor discount. We still paid our entire $40 dollar bill and tipped him $20 bucks because I run a kitchen and my girlfriend is the head waitress at a local restaurant and we believe in tipping karma. But maybe we just caught them on a rough night. Who knows the Yankees were playing and that's obviously where everyone's...
