I have a strong feeling they contacted my previous shelter without my consent because they confirmed personal information over the phone call. I felt pretty violated, and even though I have a job, and stay at code blue shelters every night avalible, the lady who I left a message about housing resources to told me to stay in a hotel every night. 5 stars is because I'm a lover. Even though it's hard, God is guiding me through these hard times. Open Door Mission has saved my life. If you're reading this. God loves you. Many years ago my family reached out to get help from this place. The person on the phone was extremely rude, and made me feel horrible. Told me we should’ve saved our money, and spent our money wiser! We were poverty at that time. If you’ve ever had to live paycheck to paycheck, you know that saving can be unrealistic. Thankfully, we were able to get help at another organization. Once we got back on our feet, we paid them back in full, and even donated baby clothes, an entire matching nursery setup, furniture, and such. Hopefully, this place has kinder and more understanding staff. Not everyone is out to rip off or live off the system. Sometimes it’s just hard to get by. Especially, in these areas....
