IHOP — Restaurant in City of Industry

I like the IHOP in Brea better. Took forever to be seated even though no one was waiting.. There was 1 person ahead of us that the hostess was talking to for a very long time, possibly about a to go order.. There needs to be more teamwork. Another staff member standing around could have sat us down.

Our waitress was sweet and seemed like she wanted to provide good service but I think she needs more training. Waited a long time to get our coffee. At other IHOP's they always make it a point to bring coffee right away. I asked for water with lemon and my husband asked for water too. Waitress just came back with water for my husband but not me. When I asked about my water with lemon she said they didn't have lemon. I said please bring me just water then. We ordered eggs and potatoes and I asked if she would hold the pancakes til later because by the time I finish my eggs and potatoes the pancakes would be cold and I like them hot. She said sure. But when she brought the pancakes, they were cold. We were there Friday, Sept 24, 11 a.m.. We saw a girl that might have been the manager but not sure. We didn't see her wait on any tables but she walked in and out of the kitchen but seemed oblivious to what was going on. I saw staff standing around. Definitely needs a better manager. It was an important day but that's a different subject but I chose IHOP for my choice of breakfast because of the sonic promotional event that Ihop was doing. I was so excited sadly as I entered just tiny menus of sonic on each table, ok I guess from what I thought. As I was seated my table had no menu of the exclusive sonic menu. Of course I got the basic menu. Then Alejandro comes in asking what I'd like to drink. I asked for water cause that's what I needed atm. Then he pushes me for coffee, water, milk, and I said just water atm. He gave me a devaluing expression. Then right away he asked me if I was ready to order. I asked for the sonic the hedgehog promotional menu cause that's what I wanted, he looked at me as if I was loopy with a cringe face expression and told me 'what are you talking about that's all we have' I left I had no time to argue I had an important event to go and I had no time to go to the nearest IHOP which was 13miles away. I lost badly at my event cause I was starving. Thanks Ihop for promoting my childhood hero but too bad you brought back my childhood bully who's name was Alejandro aswell. Definitely NEVER coming here again. Our server, Alejandro, rushed us through the whole process. As soon as we sat down he was already asking for our orders. We told him weren’t ready and two minutes he comes back and asked us again if we were ready. Again we were not. When we got our food he came up to use and very briefly said everything is good huh. He didn’t wait for our response and just walked away. Meanwhile he was dropping off waters to the table in front of us. He spilled the water on a guest and didn’t seem to apologetic on the accident. He then left all the spilled water on the floor and made it seem like the guest was exaggerating on the amount of water that spilled on his chair. I had the turkey dinner and everything was cold. The broccoli the accompanied it was black. We were not even halfway through our meal when he presented us the check. Didn’t ask if we wanted refills didn’t ask if we wanted anything else. Everything was soo rushed and we were so poorly treated. We couldn’t even justify his poor service too lack of staff or it being packed. It appeared that the staff was all covering an area and there was not a lot of people.
