First experience at CDMX Tacos in Press Bay Alley: I'm second in line so just standing in line looking at the menu, what beverages are in the fridge and overall decor of the place and I hear shouts at me from the owner: "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!!!!?" As the other guy behind the counter making the tacos then asks "how many tacos?" not what kind---I say that I wanted two vegan tacos, and he immediately throws two piles of cheese on the flattop grill. I ask him if that is vegan cheese, of course it wasn't. So I ignore that mix-up for the moment and I ask the owner, who was standing next to him, what is the "vegan taco" since the menu just has that word on it, with zero description. He rudely barks back "IT MEANS NO MEAT!" So I ask what is in it and he proceeds to be incredibly rude never bothering to tell me what the food is he's trying to sell. I don't know the guy. I wasn't walking into a place demanding anything and he just starts berating a potential new customer. I certainly will NOT go back there--the staff don't seem to be aware that cowmilk cheese isn't vegan, so I'm not confident they have vegan options at all, even if their board has that word on there. I just walked out without any further interaction with this stranger who decided to be rude to...

If you’re in Ithaca and craving authentic, no-frills Mexican flavors, this hidden gem is a must-visit. Stepping inside, you’re greeted with the sizzling sound of fresh tacos being made, the rich aroma of grilled meats, and a cozy, vibrant space that oozes personality.
I had the Taco Al Pastor, a perfect balance of smoky, juicy pork, charred just right, topped with sweet pineapple chunks that added a refreshing contrast to the meat’s depth. But the game-changer? Their house-made hot sauce—a fiery, bold kick that tied everything together. One bite in, and it was an explosion of flavors, the spice lingering just enough to make you crave another bite. 🌶️🔥
Beyond the food, the spot itself is a vibe—colorful walls adorned with traditional artwork, a massive mural watching over your meal, and little details that make the space feel both homey and full of culture. It’s the kind of place where food is made with love, and you can taste it in every bite.
Whether you’re a taco purist or just on the hunt for a standout meal in Ithaca, this is one spot you don’t want to miss. Authentic, flavorful, and unforgettable. Would you try this Al Pastor taco? Tag your...
Read moreI am Mexican so I actually know what this is supposed to taste like and the spices resemble it slightly, the texture does not. Viva cuts the meat smaller; guess its a lot of dollars per hour to get it cut to a good size.
There is nothing vegan there. I dont even think the owner is aware vegan mayo is a thing.
Owner got turned down at trader Joe's last time he tried to wholesale there and screamed discrimination -dude, people are allowed to refuse service because youre a jerk.
When the CNN hype dies, well see who keeps going to see you. I dont think ive seen someone sit at that table other than me that knows how to properly answer an albur.
