Gorgers — Restaurant in City of Ithaca

Customer service was by far one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Placed an order while outside restaurant. Went in to pick up order and noticed the two orders of loaded fries were extremely cold. Within 5 minutes of purchasing I called back inside to let them know that although the sub was hot our fries were cold. The women proceeded to tell me “idk what to tell you maybe go home and MICROWAVE them. Should’ve gotten here sooner.” When I explained I was outside the entire time and only five minutes had passed she again said well idk what to tell you. I requested a manager, and the OWNER got on the phone. I explained how rude his employee was and repeated exactly what she said to me. He then tells me well maybe she could of used “better wording” and then says well we pour cold cheese over hot fries so basically it is what it is. Then says when dealing with pick up or delivery you never know what you might get. Then said we are done here. I have spent a lot of money over the years at this restaurant and I am appalled that the OWNER would not only treat a regular customer this way but also allow his employees to do so. AWESOME PLACE. If you ever find yourself in Ithaca, come here! There’s something for everyone, with ample carnivore, vegetarian, and vegan options.

My partner got the Shrimp Po’Boy and I got the vegetarian Blue Fire. We each ordered a medium (9”) sub, which was a big portion—but with how delicious the subs were, it was no trouble to eat it all! We shared a large fry (SUPER generous portion) and I got one of their house lemonades, Mango Coconut Lime—which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the savory heat of my sub. The sandwiches come on great-tasting, soft bread—it definitely tastes homemade.

Sadly, the restaurant was understaffed, which was hard on the workers and forced them to close early. However, service never suffered. Our food was brought to us as we sat outside quickly, and the staff even wiped down our table for us upon seeing that there were a few crumbs. At the end of our meal, the staff even brought us free donuts because they had closed early. Awesome service—I cannot emphasize that enough.

My partner and I had such a great experience here, and the next time we’re in Ithaca, we’ll definitely have to stop here again. (Please, Ithaca residents, apply to work here so this gem in your town...

About a month ago we ordered food from Gorgers. We a ordered a vegetarian bánh mì with with eggplant my husbands VEGETARIAN ban im had about a 1/2 lb of pork on it. And mine WAS A simple eggplant sub with le, tomatoes and onion with ranch. It came with a TONif bluecheese and GOBS OF HOT SAUCE which I did Not. My husband went down to pick up the @correct” subs. They messed up again. I called and everytime I call the music is LOUD. I’ve been working in kitchens for YEARS. It’s fun to groove to music, but um not if your staff messes up orders multiple times. The clerk was rude to me, like I came behind the counter and made it a mess myself. I wrote 2/3 emails to the “owner” who never acknowledged us.
