The Saloon — Restaurant in City of Long Beach

Came here with my wife a few weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon, was greeted by a very pleasant hostess who sat us at a table outside. It was a beautiful sunny day and we were both pretty hungry lol. The waitress came up right away and asked us if we wanted anything to drink, my wife ordered a lemonade and I got blue moon beer. Both came quickly and were very much on time as it was pretty warm out that day. Then she took our order and I ordered Saloon Burger - (9oz. fresh ground beef with choice of toppings each $0.75 (cheese, bacon, sauteed onions mushrooms, avocado) served with lettuce, tomato, onion, and side of coleslaw) - $9.95 and my wife got the Sliced Steak Sandwich - (with garlic mayonnaise, sliced tomatoes, lettuce) - $15.95. The food came out shortly after. My burger was perfectly cooked as I said well done, it was very delicious and succulent and the patty was pretty thick. My wife’s sandwich was very delicious as well she said. Service was great and we both loved the pleasant atmosphere and the food as well. At the end we were both full in a very pleasant way.

Would definitely be returning and would highly recommend...

I recommend the outdoor seating area, which was green with plants and quite lovely. The brunch menu and small, about 6 items and they did not have jelly for the toast…nor did they ask a toast preference. The Bloody Mary (spicy) was ok. It needed Worcestershire and more frills (veggies). I wouldn’t recommend coming here for the Bloody. The pasta dish was fantastic with good amounts of sauce and large portions. The omelette was good, but the eggs were browned, which is not preferred. The ahi lettuce cups were wonderful…great sauces to accompany them. The service was fair. I haven't eaten here in many years and decided to go back and given a try. I was glad I did. The martini was strong and good. We had the pretzel bites which were hot and covered with melted butter and salt- very yummy. My significant others shared the Irish nachos( French fries ) and had the angus sliders. The burgers were good but a little over done . I had the Celtic shell steak. It was a little tough but cooked just the way I requested . The Cajun fries were very spicy. Music was good.
