I have never encountered a more unprofessional manager in my life. I went there and bought 4 beef patties amongst some other items. 1 of the beef patties were not cooked all the way through, maybe while in baking tray it was overlapped by another patty. I dont know. I asked the cashier if she can switch it out for me because it looks uncooked on one side. She said she has to call the manager, I said ok. Manager/owner comes up with his arms folded, "what is your complaint?" He says. I said I don't have a complaint I just want to switch this patty for a cooked one, he said the patty is cooked and it doesn't matter What it looks like to me but it is cooked, because if it not cooked they would not bring it out. I was explaining that its only on 1 side and he said if I wanted a crispy patty I should have asked for one. I said I never usually have to ask for a cooked patty. He said he is not going to exchange it but if I want a refund he will refund it. Like what the heck!! Who says that?? He should be ashamed of himself as a owner or manager to say something like that to a client. I'm sure the Golden Krust family did not work so hard to create a franchise just for people like this to ruin the name. Its not about the 2.50 patty or whatever it cost. All I wanted was a evenly cooked patty and he made me return it. He asked me what is he supposed to do with the patty that I dont want?. Like it's an inconvenience to him that his people didn't bake the patty properly. Remember you are never too big of a company to fail. The same way you get one customer at a time is the same way...
Read moreCurrently at 67 S 4th Golden Krust. Around 11:00 a.m. stopped by to get the usual but, today I didn’t have cash. Prior to entering a man standing outside asked for something to eat. So, being a Good Samaritan, I offered to by the gentleman food. However, I was turned down because my business credit doesn’t bare my name. I spoke the young cashier and her reply was “Sir, I’m just doing what I was told”. I informed the cashier that the displayed sign clearly states that I.D. must be present for purchase which I have but, that I’m the Owner of the corporation/business and that it doesn’t have to bare my name. Unfortunately for both me and the gentleman we have not been served as of yet. According to the cashier neither the Owner or Manager is present to rectify the situation. It’s now 11:53 a.m. ish and I’m still waiting for the Owner or Manager to rectify this matter. Please see the attached photo of their policy. I don’t know if their policy is internal or corporate but, I plan on finding out today. Hopefully, the Owner see’s this review and calls the store or sends someone to help rectify this matter aside from just a canned apology via the...
Read moreI've been in this Golden Krust several times over the years for the patties, but this was my first time ordering a meal. I ordered a 'small' Stewed Chicken, Rice and Peas, and Cabbage. On the side I got a Cod Fritter and Sweet Potato Pudding. The size of the 'small' is anything but small. It can serve two people or in my case, lasted 2 meals.
The Stewed Chicken flavor is soo on point! Delicious gravy, and the ever-present bit of background heat from Scotch Bonnet lurking in every bite. Seriously good eats. Now my Cod Fritter was just ok, I think I may have gotten an 'end-of-the-day' remaining one. I should know that fritters are best when just out of the frying, so I won't hold that against them.
And the Sweet Potato Pudding... This was my first time having it and it was a nice treat. Having had the two, I do prefer Bread Pudding, (also for sale there) but that is just a personal choice.
I'm glad I have finally ordered a meal here because the few Jamaican spots here in Mount Vernon are sometimes hit or miss. So now, having tasted one of my favorite dishes, I'll be sure to be back to try the Curry Goat, or Oxtail for dinner and Ackee...
