Back in late August/early September, I had the ultimate crush on their popcorn shrimp and fries. Apparently, all Popeyes are not created equally though! I hit this location once and that's all it took for me to decide that I'd never return! Please note, I did not stay here so I cannot account for its cleanliness or whether it's usually crowded. I'm strictly providing this review based on the amount of food that was served to me.... As stated above, I had a crush on the Popeyes popcorn shrimp for a good 3 weeks. Ordered it here and went to my car...opened it up and there were literally 10 small pieces of popcorn shrimp. I jumped out the car and returned to popeyes....when I asked where the rest of my shrimp were, I was told that is the regular portion. Please note, I'm aware of the fact that the U.S. overindulges when it comes to fast food...this dish is in no way, shape, or form an example of that! I literally only ordered the shrimp (no fries this time around) and so the 10 measly shrimp would have been a snack suited for a child. Also, I had literally been to 3 other Popeyes locations (I was hooked on this damn popcorn shrimp...it was serious!) and so I knew that the portion given this time around was wrong. The manager told me that it was the regular portion and when I explained that I had received 3 times that amount from other locations, he tried to act like he was doing me a favor and attempted to give me additional shrimp. Had I been a real addict, I would've took it.... however, I was pissed because he wouldn't admit that I had been short changed. I kindly asked for a refund! His reply was completely different then...he told me he'd still give me the additional shrimp.....I guess he was willing to do anything to keep that sale. Needless to say, I wasn't backing down from my refund request. I walked out with my money and kept it moving! The two stars is in part due to the fact that a friend of mine also received his meal and it was on point...so I'm not totally biased, but even my friend was fuming at the 10 pieces of shrimp I had received. Read moreI placed my online order at 5:15 pm which my ticket indicates, I went grocery shopping next door which took 20 minutes. I arrived at Popeyes to get my order and it wasn’t ready. I didn’t receive my order until 5:50 pm. The young men at the counter acknowledged that they had my order, but they did not indicate whether or not the food was ready. They just went on filling orders 45-64.
Rather than saying “ma’am your chicken tenders aren’t ready yet, we apologize.” They ignored me until the food was ready another 15 minutes later.
I order 3 chicken tenders, fries and a drink. I work in customer service. When something is not available, a simple few words indicating when something that was ordered almost 25 minutes prior to picking it up, would have saved my a lot of aggravation. It’s pure lack of training and the owner should be ashamed to own a restaurant where people aren’t trained in basic customer service.
Makes no sense that people patronize a place where the staff could care less about their patrons. When the patrons food purchases fund their pay...
