We were looking forward to having some Pakistani food or at least some desi flavoured cart food. The place has been around for about 2 years and is definitely a cart food and fried chicken spot, not a Pakistani/Desi restaurant. There's no naan, curries or much of the like though they do offer a samosa chaat and has some mithai too. We asked about the Chicken Tikka and Seekh Kebab and were told it would take 30 minutes which was too much for our schedule. Ordered the classic Mix over Rice ($13) to go. Unfortunately, it was incredibly salty and lacked any of the usual flavours we know from eating Halal cart food for decades. No one in our party enjoyed it and we wouldn't order it again.
The owner didn't seem enthusiastic, but we can assume the area is to blame. We imagine the fried chicken is popular for the surrounding community. He shared there's not many Pakistani families in the area but more so Bengali and Yemeni. There was effectively nothing Lahori about Lahori Fried Chicken & Gyro. If we're ever in the area again, we might consider stopping by if every other option is unavailable.
Located right across from Taqwa Mosque and the only business in the entire residential area too...
Read moreI live less than 15 minutes away from this place and discovered it just now?? I usually look at Yelp for food but they don’t have many photos or reviews there, but their food is amazing!!! My new favorite go to spot for nyc cart style halal chicken over rice. The first time I got it through UberEats and they had my order 100% right (I asked for a certain sauce and certain toppings) which I was worried about since a lot of times restaurants ignore. The second time I went in person to see how far it was from me, and they were quick and kind! They have tables and chairs to sit and eat too. This restaurant definitely needs to improve their marketing-as someone who grew up in NYC and also know many others who moved to the area from NYC, we had no clue this place even existed! Definitely underrated and top quality food! Will be...
Read moreTook a trip to Niagra Falls (NY side) and found this spot within 10 min from the falls. We were a party of about 15. We crammed ourselves into the small sitting area, but felt very comfortable because the food was so good and served very quickly. Ali was generous with the drinks and Sam was like an artist making our gyros. Some of the best gyros and zinger burgers I've tasted.
If you're from out of town, Lahori seems to be situated in a rundown neighborhood, but there is a feeling of security with a beautiful, well kept masjid across the street and the sounds of kids playing basketball and riding bikes.
Their HFSAA certificate had just expired. I hope they renew their certification.
Overall, the food and...
