I really wanted to post a good review here. I really wanted to like a local business in my town. Unfortunately, I can’t. Starting with the good, the place was nice and friendly and our server and bartender(?) were available if we needed them. However, the food/service was less than I expected. My family of four went looking for dinner and wanted to go local. Our preferred place was too busy, so we gave Witter’s a try since my wife has been suggesting it for a while. We got there and the bar had a few people and no one at any tables. We ordered drinks and put our order in. Appetizers arrived after 20min and the fried pickles were good but the Mac and cheese bites were still cold inside. When dinner arrived (after 45min) my order was wrong, my wife’s French dip was cool and my son’s tuna melt was cold. My daughter’s stir fry was fantastic, however. $100 later, we were greatly disappointed. I hope this was an anomaly and the issues were due to new help in the kitchen or something, because I want to like a local place like this. I hope they can work out the issues because the place seemed nice. We won’t be going back soon, but we might when the...
Read moreMixed feelings! Food, local hangout, regulars, friendly! Nowadays those are not givens. I am hoping to see a future game on tv there. 2 women bartenders plus ikitchen staff this day playing 2 southern women's softball games with sound. Great. 1 TV showing leadup to latest NBA playoff game when that game starts, when asked to put sound on for the basketball game, they initially balk....then a "regular " pipes up and says oh I'd like to hear the NBA game .too. That sways them to put all tvs on NBA and sound, hurray, right?! The jukebox begins playing twice as loud as TV audio, ruining the NBA watch, I drink up and leave after 5th song....I'm hoping when future game happens I just don't see it but will be able to hear it, especially when bringing others with me. Stay tuned Well I returned and my rating has gone up to 5 stars for a neighborhood bar with food. Lets hope it...
Read moreAfter sitting there for 15 minutes, and not getting any service, I finally left. This has happened in the past with me, where I’d be sitting for a while and the only time I’ve been served was when Mike was working, who no longer works there. He’s taken care of me before but when the ownership changed and new employees came on, I’d always be waiting around and then he would come over thinking I’ve already been taken care of because he’d seen me walk in but he was busy running around, but it appears that other employees don’t want to come up to serve me when I come in and he no longer works here so I guess this would be a place I’d need to wait for 20-30 minutes to get...
