Saw my first show at this theater on 8/16/25 which was FireHouse and Trixter. First off, what a fantastic venue! Cozy atmosphere, well organized with lots of helpful staff and a nice concessions area. Also have to say the popcorn was excellent! Also, really liked the location of the venue as there's some nice local restaurants right nearby and it was pretty easy to get in and out of.
As for the show itself, that was also fantastic. It's really great to see a venue like this booking some bigger acts like Firehouse, Night Ranger, etc. Anyways, Trixter opened the show and they were fabulous. My only complaint was the hesitancy of people to stand up. I think that happened because they put something up on the screen before the show urging people in front to stay seated so people could see. Come on people, it's a rock and roll show. Those artists are busting their rumps up there trying to get people to have a good time. If you're somebody that wants to sit down, get seats in the balcony or the back. I think people should be encouraged to stand if they want to.
Anyways, the headliner was FireHouse and they were just fantastic. Their original singer passed away and has been replaced by a new singer, but they were still great and the new singer is a perfect fit for the bands songs. And more people did stand for this show which improved the atmosphere IMO.
Overall, was a really fun night and we'll be attending more events at this venue. They generally book mostly cover bands but I hope they can keep mixing in some of these 80's bands that are still kicking as there just aren't that many venues like this...
Read moreKind of small for the type of its' day but considerably larger than a multi-plex of today and far and away more opulent, this is like taking a step back into time! Beautifully restored, you can only marvel at what it must have been like to go to a show back in the day. Everyone should see this place and attempt to experience something that was once an icon of Americana and yet, were mostly reduced to rubble by the thousands after only 35 or so years. Very few places like this left, and, as we all know, they sure ain't building them like this today! The organ, one of only 40 or so (of probably around 8,000) that still resides in it's original location and only about a mile from where it was built, sounds very impressive, painstakingly maintained by the maintenance crew. Again, they aren't building them any more today either, the last one rolled off the lines in the mid 30's. So, whatever show happens to be going on at the Riviera it's worth a stop in to experience something from the good ol' days that, sadly, many of these later generations won't ever get to experience. It's reassuring to see that they're getting multi-venue use out of this great building, hopefully it'll be around and in regular use for many more generations - one of the very, very...
Read moreI'm from Jamestown N Y and getting to the Riviera Theater is very easy to drive to. The free parking in town is a blessing. North Tonawanda is a quaint town with loads of establishments with live talent that permeats the night. There are a variety of eateries as well.
The volunteers at the Riviera are delightful, warm, and accommodating. The concert goers too are well behaved and friendly. The security workers are on top of their game and they perform their duties respectfully and as unobtrusively as they can.
There are concessions there for adult beverages and snacks.
The schedule of talent is varied and can appeal to a wide array of fans and tickets are so reasonable.
The theater itself is beautiful and ornate. It has been restored to all its original glory. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. I've attended many events and I have been seated in different areas of the theater and always have a good view of the stage and performers.
My only regret is that I don't have enough funds to attend more events there. I thoroughly enjoy my visits there and I'm sure...
