Extremely poor customer service, i am shocked!
I placed an order on the phone for a “strawberry milk shake”, assuming myself that as an ice cream/ milkshake place they would have hard ice cream standard shakes, otherwise they would ask the customer if it would be soft or hard ice cream, if there were options.
I got the milkshake picked up and when it arrived at my house, for my surprise it was made with soft ice cream with a very artificial pink color.
I called the place to ask what kind of ice cream they make their milkshakes and the woman told me soft and hard, so i asked her if they let their customers to know that there are those two options, and she said no, that the customer has to say it otherwise they will make soft.
So i told her how I, as a new customer, was supposed to know that they had two options if they dont ask? And she simply said “this how it is, if you want a new milkshake we can make it to you but you gonna have to pay again.”
I am just done with this place. I just moved to PJ a month ago and i have placed 5x order there. And just once it was accurate.
The first time I ordered their salad with grilled chicken and the chicken was disgusting, with nerves and bones all shredded on the top of the very simple salad. If i knew i would just have used my own salad stuff from my refrigerator. Anyways.
The second time I ordered the Philly cheesesteak wrap, and came really good. So I ordered it a second time and it came with almost nothing of meat and mostly only peppers and onions... really?
The fourth time I ordered another Philly cheesesteak wrap and it arrived at my house as a combo, and i didnt order a combo( bc their fries are mushy) but i paid for a combo, and the person that picked up didn’t know it so fine.
And now, the 5th time, the milkshake and attitude of the attendant on the phone when i addressed her the issue. They should be grateful for customers like me that still lose some time to let them know about their mistakes and give them the chance to make it right. Make it better.
Well, they just lost a customer and all the other friends that have been ordering from there since i moved. Bc every time some friend would stop by we would order from Bens fresh bc the convenience of being so close to my house but now, everything changed with that terrible customer service.
Ps: when i call there they just answer like “hello” and then you need to figure it out if yiu called the right number of a restaurant or just a random persons phone number. And this time when i said “is it from the ice cream place?” And i had one very dry “yes” like as if needed to know.
Ohh boy, they need desperately a quality customer service training conference! Light years from serving well...
Read moreWent about 7 or 8 pm Friday night. Didn't look overly busy. There was a heat wave inside as well as out. Felt hotter inside. Tried their new offering chicken and waffles. BF had a burger. We both had fries and he had a shake. Had heard about the place online and the GM/chef bombards the pages I follow tirelessly (even though the page says no advertising). Setting the heat aside did not have a good experience. The girl who took our order asked if BF wanted whipped cream and cherry on his shake which we both said yes to. We take a table and he offers me a taste...no whipped cream no cherry. Had to go back up to get it and had to wait for someone to correct the order as she did something else while the shake melted on the back table. Ok maybe they need more help but wasn't happy with a melting shake. We had to wait 30 minutes for our order and it wasn't even hot!! My fries were rock hard. BF liked his fries but they weren't dark and hard like mine. Should have taken a picture but pix were an afterthought. Chicken was ok nothing special but the waffles were awful. Cold and no crunch on the outside with fluffy inside was more like eating a sponge. There were two about the size of palm of my hand and two small chicken fingers. There was a side of watery white stuff with the pancake syrup but don't know what it was. Had no taste. In my opinion not worth the time or money. Don't know what the hype is all about. I'll stick with Jake's Wayback burgers, The General Stores chicken and The Creamery ice cream. I know what I like and this is not it. Didn't say anything while we were there because I've seen on line GM/chef doesn't take criticism well. Didn't...

For a long time, I've gotten ice cream from Ben's Fresh, and it's in my list of top 5 places to get ice cream. However, it wasn't until today that I had enough time (and belly space) to get some lunch.
There were some interesting-looking specials listed, but I decided to keep it simple with a 3-piece chicken strip meal, opting for the fresh-cut fries, and mac and cheese for my sides. It also came with Texas toast, and Benny's sauce on the side. All together it was only around $11, which was pretty dang good.
The chicken strips were hot, moist, tender, and generously big. The breading was a little bland, but the Benny's sauce (read as: fancy Thousand Island dressing) helped bump them up a bit when they needed it. The real star were the fresh-cut fries - if you're only getting one thing here, get the fresh-cut fries. They were well-cooked, just salty enough, and delicious. They also give you enough fries to feed two people with one order, even if it's a side for a meal. Delicious. Get them.
The "Texas toast" was the thin heel of what looked like Wonder Bread, a bit charred, and gently brushed with what might have been garlic butter. Calling it "Texas toast" was a big stretch. The mac and cheese was a generous portion, but it was watery, mostly bland elbow macaroni in what was thin yellow cheese sauce. It reminded me of the nacho cheese you could get on nachos at the movies, but watered down significantly.
When I go back for lunch and/or ice cream, I'll get the chicken and fries again, but none of the other sides (except maybe tater tots). But...
