This isn’t about this location service or food specifically. They actually work real hard and are excellent in what they do. However their is one thing that is bothersome and lacking. It is a managerial responsibility. It’s about taking responsibility for cleanliness and safety in outdoor dining areas. The location naturally attracts birds, especially pigeons, which results in droppings where people are supposed to eat. That’s not just unpleasant. It’s a public health concern.
What’s most concerning is the lack of proactive action. Rather than preventing birds from nesting by sealing crevices or using humane deterrents like spikes or screens, it appears action is only taken after nests are discovered. Today, I noticed a broken egg on the ground, land a nest that had been pulled from the rafters . The mother bird still sat in the rafters without her egg. I don’t know who moved it, and I’m not saying Bill Gray’s is directly responsible, but it does suggest there’s an ongoing issue. Adding to the concern, the outdoor tables are often left with condiments, leftover food from patrons, and napkin stations still out overnight. This not only attracts more birds and pests, but also shows that no one is thoroughly checking or securing the area before closing. If this is a known problem and this has been going on year after year , the responsible choice is to invest in prevention. It is safer, more humane, and ultimately protects both customers and wildlife. I hate seeing this happen to something naturally occurring in this area and while i know it’s a problem small steps can be taken to really...
Read moreCame with the family to eat dinner. Sat at a table by the water and went up to get some beers at the bar. Stood there with my husband for 10 minutes as we ordered our food before waiting. We watched several other people come and sit down at the bar, greeted, and received drinks as we stood there wondering????? After our buzzer went off the the , one of the 2 girl bartenders , looked over and said we will be right there. We then waited another few minutes as she helped 2 others. Our food needed to get picked up and didn't want it more cold. We walked away with no drinks. I guess customer service means nothing these days. She saw us walk right by the bar and still didn't say I'm sorry for the wait or offer her help. Really mad for...
Read moreWe went to the Tap Room in Charlotte on Labor Day. Only 1 bartender was on duty. It took a long time to be acknowledged, then another long wait to be served. The drinks were poorly made. We sat outside, but we're barraged by bees feasting on food left on a table next to us. They chased us out. We went inside to pay our bill. The bill was plopped in a puddle by an annoyed bartender, and then when I checked my account, we found we were charged twice. I called and spoke to a manager, who apologized only for the "glitch in the POS system", and told I "should see the refund in 2-3 days". It's a great location, at the Rochester port, but sadly, the service and cleanliness didn't make...
