I think I need to defend this bar as I have gone a handful of times. This is the only place in Rochester they have different shelves of beer that are less than 5 dollars a can. I was able to get 5 beers for $10.00. I am partial to the wings as I know they are fresh and not frozen and they have a huge assortment. Their wings are the same price as all other bars and restaurants - google it. I have gone at all times of the day and I have never felt unsafe. ALL of the staff love to see kids and did not care my 5 and 7 year old boys playing darts while I waited for take out, the owner walked by and did not care either.
You need to use logic when you are going to eat or get take out! In August on a Wednesday I went for lunch as soon as they open and it took about 20 minutes to get my food. Now earlier in September I went with a couple of friends we waited 40 minutes for a table and 60 minutes for food but what do you expect the first bills game of the season. The past 2 weeks I have gotten take out wings and they tell you its a 45 minute wait. Sometimes you get them in less but I have never waited longer than 45 minutes.
The only compliant is peanut oil. I did not know they use it...
Read moreRead moreWe were directed to Windjammers for their wings. We came pretty early, it was 2pm-ish Saturday. It was decently busy and they had a sign stating that there was no hostess, so we were expecting a bit of a wait. We asked to be seated outside and as we did, more and more people arrived. We sat at our table for 30min before the overworked server came and took our drink order. Waited another 30min before they returned to take our food order but at this point they had attended a table that arrived way later than us. We requested the pretzel and fries appetizer and 2 orders of wings. Another 30min and the table was served first. Our apps didn't come out first, they arrived together with our wings, about 15min after the other table. The pretzels were definitely not freshly made. They looked to have been reheated and a fresh coat of butter and salt added. The seasoned fries were cold. The wings were good, not spectacular. Definitely not worth the 2hr wait. And I was bitten by 2 flies _
The overall experience was not satisfying. The hostess tried to seat us in the front corner of the room right next to, and I mean literally next to, the ATM machine. After we got seated at a more acceptable table our waitress was not attentive at all the entire time we were there; she was more focused on the table next to us. Moving on to the food, this restaurant is supposed to have amazing wings. They were nothing to write home about. Tried a dry rub and a regular sauce, both came out looking like a dry rub. The flavor of each sauce was almost non-existent. Ordered a side of the loaded tater tots and it was like biting into a ball of oil and grease. Ordered the bacon bleu burger, the burger itself had absolutely no flavor. The bread the burger was served on acted as a sponge and soaked up all the grease from the burger. The fries, which I had to pay extra for, looked like they just came out of the fryer they had so much oil and grease on them. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a good place to eat. I for sure will not...
