This is a great versatile beach/park area which includes a playground and restrooms. The body of water is one of five Great lakes (Ontario) and it's massive... You can not see the other side which is Canada! Being that it is a lake, the water isn't as blue as the ocean but at it's best, it's still a fun place for a dip. There are some food options available close by and many pavilions which normally need to be reserved but you can find shade under many trees of the park. There's also a very long Pier that is fun to walk and watch boats go back and forth. Lots of parking options, several gazebos and a party house. Typical beach rules apply like no glass bottles and take care of your trash. A decent boardwalk and concrete walkways thru out the park makes this beach and park easy to navigate. I've been to many beaches and I've been to this one many times over the last few decades... this one is solid. Enjoy!

They place to go and cool off with a family way the pork is pretty clean like guards keep swimable areas to one condensed spot. Mixed information was given by the lifeguards that we couldn’t go in the water at all we could go into the water knee level we can go to the water waste level or that we can go into the water as long as we weren’t actively swimming. Carousel is at the beach park as well only takes cash and it’s one dollar for admission. Restaurants and ice cream are nearby grills are available for public use and gazebos for parties. There is a large boardwalk with an old lighthouse at the end but it is filthy with garbage from the public. Lots of parking available.

Good place for a walk along the beach or out to the lighthouse. There are a few pavilions with grills for picnics and/or large groups. The carousel is fun but it's usually pretty crowded, especially in the summer. Finding a place to park is never an issue, as they have a very large parking lot. There are also several good restaurants nearby. Probably not the best place to be late at night - we lived down the street and it seemed like there were always police responding to something down there. We never had any issues while we were there during the day or early evening so I'm sure it's fine. That was just our observation. Still a fun little park.

On a sunny but not so crowded day this beach in my opinion is a 4.5 out of 5 .. you sometimes have make your own paradise. But when you have life guards trying to control your every moment and tell you to hang around a crowd when your trying to seclude yourself especially during the times of covid. It makes the stars go down. I'm honestly being nice because on a good day i actually like that beach. But yeah that's how i feel, pass the park the beach is actually peaceful. I may say actually a bunch but it's because things really are surprisingly good and bad at the same time. Lol

The beach is at the end of the road on lake Ave in Rochester ny. You see lake Ontario a favorite spot in the warmer months of the year. The employees who keep our park and beaches safe, clean and beautiful. They have on site life guards on the beach. I love to walk the pier it reminds me of my childhood memories coming down with my family to smile. The parking lot was very clean and safe. Morning is best to make sure you get a good spot and not alot of people. Great job to all the employees who are working on the piers To keep us safe. Gerry

A place near and dear to every true Rochesterian. The beautiful outlet of the mighty Genesee River with two imposing piers, sandy beach, and the colorful and charismatic Lake Ontario - cannot beat it. Helps to be surrounded by lots of great eateries. Amazing park with carousel, gazebo stage, playground, shelters galore, bathhouse with pickleball courts, sandy beach, long pier in great condition. Also home to the Port of Rochester, with marina and restaraunts inside. Lastly, a great place to go birding at all times of the year!
