East of Chicago Pizza - Rochester — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I had an absolutely horrifying experience at East of Chicago Pizza that I feel compelled to share. When I ordered my pizza, I was shocked to find a cooked maggot in it. Yes, you read that correctly—a maggot. This is not only unacceptable but downright disgusting.

When I brought this to the attention of the manager, his response was incredibly disappointing. He dismissed my concerns with a lack of empathy, stating it was "hard to believe" such a thing could happen. Instead of taking responsibility, he seemed more focused on defending the restaurant than acknowledging the serious nature of the issue. His response felt like a complete failure to recognize how concerning this is for a food establishment.

Food safety should be a top priority, and it’s clear that this restaurant needs to seriously reevaluate their practices. I expected better, and I certainly won’t be returning.

Don't know if we visited during a bad day, but the service was strange.

Food, pretty good. It's hard to mess up up pizza and wings. Preferably, the pizza should have stayed in the oven maybe 5 minutes longer since I'm not a big fan of a doughy texture. But its not a big deal since it wasn't raw.

The strange experience started with a lack of plates. Pretty integral for a restaurant, but whatever. Plenty of napkins were provided. Also, I guess we had a server. The order was taken, and drinks were served. But I wasn't entirely sure if after that it was self serve for drinks as we didn't see the server again until the food came out and then when the bill was delivered. Maybe some communication will help. If self serve was the case, then the experience would have gone better.
