Jamaican Spice — Restaurant in City of Rochester

Food is honestly subpar which was disappointing since I love Jamaican food. I got the oxtails and my wife for the veggie dish (she's vegetarian) and I was just let down. I ordered it for pick up at 6:30 and I picked it up right when it was ready and brought it home. I live less than five minutes from Monroe and the food was already cold by the time I got home. The rice and beans were very bland and dry and the cabbage was undercooked. My wife's veggie dish had little to no flavor. The only good thing was the gravy that the oxtails were cooked in that added some sort of flavor to the food. The ox tails weren't very good, they just didn't taste fresh like maybe they had been sitting out for a few hours? I'm honestly not sure, just honestly the worst I've had at any Jamaican restaurant. I travel with my wife a lot and we tend to check out Jamaican restaurants in different towns and cities and this was honestly the worst I've had. I hope they do better in the future and improve the quality in the food. Honestly, I've always respected the price point for Jamaican food but this was truly not worth the 60 or so dollars I paid for...

Oxtails gravy way too sweet. Cabbage delicious but unfortunately most of the food was wasted because I wanted a lot of gravy. Also oxtails didn’t taste properly cleaned. I love oxtails it’s my go to meal but I don’t know if I can ever eat them again. My son didn’t like his at all. I called and the lady was very nice and willing to have me bring the food back and I planned to go back but I don’t want to have to come all the way back out. Overall very disappointing because I spent $93 on three meals and 2 cheese beef patties. My mom didn’t like her food either. I am in New York City and ordered food from this restaurant for my mom who is visiting with us. She decided in some curried goat and we ordered a large plate. To my dismay after reading all the good reviews on this place and actually seeing the food if I could I would have brought it back and emptied it on the floor in that restaurant and walk away not even being concerned about all the money I paid for that food.
