I would tell others this was the best Chinese food in Rochester (like 12 years ago (2005- 2007). My son paid for me to order some food in, March 2017. IT WAS REALLY BAD!!!!!!!!; Fried rice was mushy and bland (I don't like a lot of salt but it tasted like it had none) Chicken tasted funny and rubbery, Broccoli and sauce were extremely salty (and no it didn't balance itself out when mixed with the rice; it was way too salty). Food was not hot, more on the cool side, Egg roll looked and tasted like it was about 2 days old, it was cold and didn't taste like a fresh Egg roll. I reckon there are those who really like the food, yet complain, to try and get a refund.... making it bad for those who really do have a bad experience... NOT that this restaurant would ever refund you, anyway! In the past, the owner was very pleasant and would try and resolve a problem, if there was something I didn't get in my order that I paid for. But, when I called to complain, the person I spoke with was nonchalant about it all... saying the rice would become mushy or soggy because of the sauce. I tried telling him, even the rice without any sauce was mushy. He stated that the sauce has the same amount of salt as always, that I have to ask for less salt next time. He denied the egg rolls being old. And then said, It was the LUNCH time period and that they were very busy. ANY RESTAURANT OWNER OR ANY PROFESSION FOR THAT MATTER KNOWS, HOW BUSY ONE IS, SHOULDN'T COMPROMISE THE FOOD AND OR SERVICE THEY GIVE!!!!!!!! Well, God help me, there won't be a next time for me to ever eat food from Lin's Garden again; even if someone else is...
Read moreTonight I ordered almost $50 worth of food from here made it clear that the two orders of sesame chicken had to have no Seafood in them due to my 17 year old who's had a seafood allergy ever since he was a baby and cannot eat seafood yet they send me two plates with shrimp fried rice with the receipt that clearly states sesame chicken with pork fried rice and refuse to fix it told me I can come there and get it because there were cars in my driveway and they would not redeliver even though it was their mistake as I explained the whole purpose of delivery was because we didn't want to come out the house he offered to give me a free tea to fix it as I explained now there's nothing that my child can eat because you put the shrimp in his plates and he went on to backtrack and say it wasn't his mistake when I have a receipt that says something different from what I got so the lack of accountability and professionalism exhibited by them is egregious especially since my child Seafood allergy will definitely result in a hospital visit if he consumed any Seafood and they gave a rat's ass about it. I made a promise to him on the phone that this would not be the last he heard from me whether I had to call the health department the Better Business Bureau anywhere to anyone who would listen and that's what I intend to do game on it is not okay to ignore a request of a paying customer especially when the request can result and someone needing immediate medical attention...
Read moreI became a customer at Lin's Garden originally because I was looking for a place that had Chicken Rice Soup on their menu, the kind my dad used to pick up on his way home from work to bring for me when I was sick as a kid. Not only do they make it exactly like I had in my childhood (which I eat by the quart!), but their other options are just as delicious, and for once, I can eat all of them because they NEVER use peanut oil in their cooking, only vegetable oil!! They're very kind and well-mannered on the phone, which is refreshing for this type of operation. Oh--and did I mention that you can order online?? It's fast and painless.
The thing that really earned my loyalty, though, is the way I am treated every time I buy from Lin's Garden. When I pick up in person, I can have a casual conversation with the owner's wife, and since I often leave a tip of a couple dollars, she always offers me a quart of their homemade iced tea free of charge!! And when I opt for delivery, my history of generous tipping is well rewarded by prompt, friendly service and a bounty of extra noodles, sauces, and fortune cookies. Their prices are low as it is, but the humble tokens of appreciation make the value of their...
