It's sad to see what this place has become. I absolutely loved this space, drinks, and service when it was Solera/Cheshire, but the new place is terrible. They need a full refund from whoever did the renovation and decor-- It's absolutely horrendous. The seating is uncomfortable and cramped and the workmanship is beyond bad-- there are exposed screws everywhere (including on the back of the bench, which caught my sweater). The place looks so cheap....I sat next to an IKEA-looking rack that had a combination of games, utensils, and drinking glasses. The tables look like Burger King tables from 90s. They covered the bars with rattan. The music was way too loud (it was 6:30 on a Saturday-- I was there for drinks and conversation, not a dance party). I was so happy when I heard that a cocktail bar was opening back up here, but there are plenty of other places to get good cocktails that are much more comfortable and that don't look like 'Florida grandpa's garage bar'. The only positive thing is that the bartender was very friendly. The drinks were good but...
Read moreI have a hard time getting into whatever this place is trying to sell. We went to check it out last night and had mixed feelings when we left.
First off, congratulations on some amazing drinks. Seriously. They were fantastic. The issue I have is that paying $12 for a drink poured from tap is hard to swallow. In my mind, some of that price should be for paying a skilled bartender to craft a drink in front of you. This was upstairs - I have no idea what the bar was like downstairs.
That said, the downstair section was so busy it was impossible to move around, so we went up. First thing we noticed what that the modern looking bar clashed with the rest of space. The decor was disjointed and it made the whole vibe feel off. It got pretty busy up there too and it wasn't even 7PM.
I'd definitely come back to give it another shot. 3/5 stars because for the price of things I would expect a better overall experience. The crowd didn't help. BUT, the drinks were great and that is what...
Read moreIve been a couple times and I think its has great potential and a great vibe. The space is really cool and I think Rochester has needed a hip inventive bar for young people. That being said, I often feel the drinks focus on being unique rather than tasting good. In addition I enjoy the music but it does not fit the vibe there at all. Its club music with a lounge/conversation atmosphere and often too loud to hear anything. I went on italodisco night and they didn't play any disco. I feel Im paying a premium for a drink I wouldn't choose if a vodka soda was on the menu and music I cant dance to and people I cant hear. I feel that jazz music or live musicians would fit the space far better or even more...
