Sitting on the river is wonderful for a summer afternoon. The staff we had were very pleasant, welcoming and friendly. Some of the patrons were like Real Housewives of the LA boat scene, with a couple party girls just drunk enough to literally do a flip and fall into a large boat tied up to the restaurants' dock. Even the staff commented later that the crew of folks who'd boated in that particular afternoon were "more entertaining" and rowdy than usual. So, the atmosphere is a fun change of pace. The food, however, was not a great place for dinner. Very much cheap bar food, mostly to give you something cheap and greasy to let you keep drinking. We had the nachos, with the chicken on the side, so my vegetarian partner could have something to eat, since it was the first place we've been to in a long time with no vegetarian patty option for the burgers. the nachos were large, and more than 2 people could eat, but heavy on chips and Velveeta cheese sauce and sour cream, and very limited on the vegetable toppings like tomato, lettuce and onion. If you're jonesing for a place to go drinking beer and some junk food, this place is awesome-- if you're looking for a healthy dinner, it's probably best to go somewhere else, and then go hang out here to watch the water and...
Read more07/07/24: We finally got an opportunity to eat at this very busy restaurant on a recent Friday evening. We arrived there just before 6 PM and had to wait roughly 20 minutes for an available table on the large outdoor patio. It took another 10 minutes to get our orders placed, and then another 20 minutes for our food to be served. We both ordered a haddock fish fry dinner and were not disappointed at all. Our meals were served up very hot, the fish was very tasty and cooked perfectly, and the portion size was more than enough food for a reasonable appetite. Considering the food quality and portion size, $16 was a fair price for each full dinner. *Be aware, there is a surcharge if paying with a credit card. Our bill with beverages, tax, and surcharge totaled around $46. Some of the other prices on the menu seemed a bit high, so the fish fry may be the best value on their current menu. Our server, Logan, was friendly, efficient, and provided great service. Dining on the patio next to the water is a nice bonus. Parking in their main lot is a bit limited, but a larger adjacent parking area is just a short walk. Based on a good first visit here, we would definitely eat here again, although maybe arriving earlier next time. Thanks...
Read moreI went to this place on a Saturday afternoon and ordered a couple of drinks while my partner and I waited for some friends. The drinks took a ridiculous amount of time since the bar was only 20 feet away and we only ordered draft beer.
Our friends ran late and our waitress said that she would keep an eye out for our table to fill up and then return. Once our friends showed up our waitress didn't come over, so we waited 10 minutes and then just went to the bar to get our own drinks.
We eventually flagged down a different waitress and were able to order food: 2 orders of chicken nachos. We waited more than 30 minutes for them and our waitress kept promising that they were on the way out.
When they eventually came out,, they were awful! It was corn tortillas with a bit of cheese, a little shredded chicken and a bunch of lettuce(?!) and tomato(?!). It was not worth $9.
The waitress said that her computer malfunctioned and that was why they took so long. This should have told us when she realized the issue, not when the food finally arrived.
I would have given 1 star, but we were able to have the nachos removed from the bill once we requested it. I will never go here again, the only good part...
