If you’re a bread lover, prepare to be amazed. The bread at Perreca's Bakery is nothing short of extraordinary. Every loaf, baguette, and roll seems crafted with precision, passion, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
First, let’s talk about texture. The crusts are a masterpiece of crunch—golden, crackly, and baked to perfection—while the interiors are delightfully soft, airy, and flavorful. Whether it’s their sourdough, ciabatta, or a classic French baguette, every bite is an experience.
The flavor? Absolutely divine. You can taste the difference that high-quality ingredients and traditional baking methods make. The sourdough has the perfect tang, their multigrain is hearty without being dense, and even their simplest white loaf carries a rich, buttery undertone that elevates every meal.
And then there’s the aroma. Walking into Perreca's Bakery is like stepping into a bread-lover’s dream. The smell alone is worth the visit—warm, yeasty, and utterly inviting.
The attention to detail doesn’t end at the bread itself. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their craft. They’re always happy to recommend the perfect pairing for your bread, whether it’s a special jam, cheese, or dipping oil.
In a world of mass-produced bakery goods, Perreca's Bakery stands out as a haven for those who appreciate artisanal quality. If you haven’t yet indulged in their bread, you’re truly missing out. Five stars isn’t enough for this level...
Read moreBiggest cupcakes this side of the Capitol Region.
Use to come here monthly back when I lived in Schenectady to eat at the restaurant side of Perreca's, always picking up a cupcake for dessert on my way out. Since moving though I don't get to visit as much, but I'm glad to see they're still around and still making fantastic cupcakes!
Bought two of their four varieties, the Carrot Cake and the Vanilla. They also have a chocolate and red velvet, but I'm unable to eat coca, so sadly can't partake of them. Comparable to Crumbl's price for their cookies, each cupcake was $5 for a total of $10 all together. Which might sound expensive, but you just have to see the size of these things, they're massive, and by the time you're done with one I very much doubt you'll have room for a second. So I find the price to be quite reasonable.
Flavor-wise the carrot cake is packed with lots of bis of carrot and spice, with the cream cheese frosting on top working perfectly to provide just the right amount of sweetness to the more subdue pastry. As alluded to in my previous statement, I finished the one but couldn't move onto the vanilla without going overboard, but if it is like I remember then the cake will be more tender and fluffy than the carrot cake was and the frosting with be a bit on the less sweet side; more airy.
I also see they recently celebrated their 100 year anniversary, so here's hoping they'll see...
Read moreThe sausage and peppers on the tomato pie was delicious, one slice was a little soggy on bottom but not so bad it needed replacing. Was disappointed by the pasta alla pomodoro and the meatballs. The meatballs were sitting in a pool of greasy red water that I’m guessing was supposed to be sauce, and the pasta was about the same with actual sauce on top. If you’ve eaten at a malls food court then you know the quality, that’s what these two dishes reminded me of. The lasagna was great, I definitely recommend the dish. It’s a good sized portion with plenty of meat, cheese, and flavor. The bakery side was also a bit disappointing compared to other Italian bakery’s I’ve visited due to lack of selection. I was told they were sold out of other pastries at the time so perhaps I just came at the wrong time. I was able to get a couple cannoli, a slice of lemon lime cheesecake, a pack of assorted Italian cookies, and a muffaletta sandwich. All were delicious and satisfying. The staff was friendly and helpful on both the restaurant and and bakery side. I’d recommend coming in for breakfast or an early lunch as the dinner menu is over priced for...
