Pizza Buono — Restaurant in City of Schenectady

We had seen this place often when driving by union street. We finally decided to pop in to check things out. We were not disappointed. The store is located on VanAntwerp and upper union street. They are located in the corner of a mini mall commercial property. The store has darkly tinted windows advertising a bakery, pizza and smoothies. Once inside, the store is bright, Clean and spacious. On the menu Wall were listed various fresh homemade smoothies ranging from a vegan cleanse to a sugar free fruit smoothie alternative. After discussing the power of juicing with proprietor Christine, who happens to be a licensed nutritionist, made some recommendations as to what smoothie to experience based upon what our bodily requires. I had a tumeric, honey, ginger smoothie that helps with inflammation and joint pain. My companion ordered a 4 berry antioxidant smoothly made with almond milk. Both were incredibly delicious and quite affordable ($6-$8 ea.) Next was to peruse the homemade in house baked goods located in the bakery section of the store. Cheese cake, pies and a variety of other goodies awaits one in The dessert cooler. Finally, the Italian American delight's are all made on premises with unbleached flour. Lasagna, chicken parm and a mouth watering array of pizza is also available. Check out this quiet corner of upper union street in Schenectady, NY( I'll gladly do away with the the pretense calling this location niskayuna when they are in Schenectady- get over it) it's a beautiful place with a friendly proprietor and a wealth of delicious nutritious food....

I ordered a Hawaiian pizza from their menu. I ordered over the phone and was told it would be ready in a half an hour. I drove there, was there on time, nobody else was there picking up pizzas. Anyway, I was told it would be a few more minutes and paid ahead (and for more than shown on their website). My husband came looking for me as I was still waiting inside for over 20 minutes. It took another 30 plus minutes before I was able to leave with a pizza in hand and it wasn't even really hot. This order was on a mid-day (not a holiday or busy weekend). This place is absolutely wonderful! What I love the most, is the amazingly deliciously fresh food that this restaurant offers. My husband and I literally fought over the last of an amazing salad that featured lemon garlic chicken with the freshest greens and veggies around. Everythjng is just so yummy and well seasoned including the BEST homemade breadsticks (and mozz sticks) ever. And what's even more refreshing is that the owner has the best tips and advice for home remedies and strategies to keep me and my family healthy!
