Review Pt: 1 ( I have too much to write for a single review)
I just want to start off and say that the atmosphere of this restaurant is wonderful. The food as a whole is not bad either. I am not usually one to leave reviews, but this past experience was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in a LONG time...
My family and I went to Mojitos because the past two times my wife and I had been there, it was a wonderful experience. Service was on point, and the food was delivered within about 10-15 minutes after we ordered it. Usually a fantastic experience! This time we decided to bring a few first timers that we had raved about Mojito's to....and let me just say, for this terrible experience to be their first...and likely their last. I am appalled at such a terrible experience.
When we first arrived, we immediately had chips and salsa for us to snack on before ordering our meals, and about 5 minutes later, our waters were delivered to the table. This was when everything went downhill.
Our server, James P, started by greeting us while delivering the waters, no straws, and then proceeds to tell us that he will be back in a moment to take our order. 15-20 minutes go by, and nothing. We started looking around to see where he was...and mind you, the restaurant was not full or busy by any means...as soon as he comes over, he apologizes for the wait..
He proceeds to take our drink orders, and immediately takes our food orders. We think everything is going to go well from here on out...or rather, we were hopeful to say the least. Time passes, and probably another 15 minutes or so goes by and our drinks that we ordered are finally delivered to the table. One of the drinks was wrong, and the others were incredibly watered down...leading us to believe that the drinks had been made quickly after the order was put in, but they sat for the rest of the time before they made their way to our table (my wife had a piece of lettuce in her drink too...most likely courtesy of the wait while food passed over them to be delivered to other tables).
We continue to wait for our meal, and what seems like another 20-25 minutes goes by and we haven't seen eye or tail of James...I understand when waitstaff get busy...I've done it myself...but when a server comes to a table and asks if we need anything and then bolts away after the first statement without waiting to see if anything else could be done in the mean time...that's just poor service...the dude was like the Flash! One second he's there, you can barely get a word in, and then he's gone again.
For the rest of this review...please...
Read moreStopped in for a quick lunch with one of my good friends, honestly we shouldn't have stayed and gave this place any of our money. We came in and there was no hostess present to seat us so we walked up to the bar where we were stopped by someone asking what we were doing, as we informed her she didn't seem very welcoming it was like a what are we doing here. Upon sitting at the bar I placed a drink order and the bartender just seemed un interested in not only dealing with us but the other patrons eating at the bar. My friend attempted to order a chilled tequila shot to which the bartender told her they did not offer, a Mexican restaurant that doesn't serve chilled tequila is not normal so my friend who is a fluent Spanish speaker addressed the woman in Spanish to which she was told the bar did not have ice, obviously dumb founded by the response thinking maybe the woman still did not know what was being asked my friend asked for a manager to which the bartender told her she did not know the name of the manager and also he was not there, however upon addressing another server my friend quickly learned the managers name Antonio and that he was there just off on a break. Honeslty the whole ordeal was strange not sure why a chilled tequila shot would have been an issue as its a common ask but it happened to be and to warrant this review. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as most of the 1star reviews are very true about the lack of customer service...
Read moreCame in to the (mostly) empty restaurant w/ little to no expectations. Upon reviewing the menu, decided on the quesabirria (a birria quesadilla! sounds delish!) The food runner brought out an order of tacos instead, and we told him that we ordered a quesadilla, not tacos. He stared at us for a moment, and then flagged a manager (?) down. The manager then tried to serve us the tacos the food runner was holding. We said no, we ordered a quesadilla. They took the tacos back. About five minutes later they returned with more tacos, but plated differently. Tired of arguing about, and fairly hungry, we decided to just bite the bullet and eat what was served (birria tacos). They tasted good, but were not at all what we ordered. The server was not informed of the situation (I think?). When the check came out, we had been charged for the quesabirrias, not the tacos that were served to us, which only then caused more confusion. I think, in the end, it was the kitchens doing, as the right order had been rung in, but I’m left still confused as to how no one, from the server to the food runner to the manager, noticed this mistake and made any actual efforts towards rectifying the issue, especially considering how few people were even in the restaurant. Again, the wrong order tasted good, and the margarita was decent, but the experience as a whole just left a bad taste...
