Just had our first meal at Mojitos. We started with delicious margaritas which there were lots of choices both frozen or on the rocks. Also had a raspberry mojito - I could drink that all day. Went with the large for $15. Lots of ice, so kind of pricey for what we got. Tasted great. Regular and a blue curaçao. Then came complimentary chips and salsa. Chips were your usual Mexican restaurant type chips, nothing special. Salsa was the same but certainly tasty. We ordered the fresh guacamole which was made of fresh avocados chopped up, not smashed like it usually is. Very unique. One of the best I’ve had! They put some extra lime in it which really made it extra tasty. Dinner was made up of quesabirria, steak mojitos and, chimichangas. Everything was delicious and very tasty. Servings were also very generous. The birrias were very good, a bit greasy but with the consommé and side hot sauce very good. I’ve had better but still this was very good. The steak was generous size but thin. Surprisingly, it was also very flavorful with onions and a cheesey sauce. It also had shrimp which were also tasty. Lastly, the chimichangas filled with chicken. Very nice. We had a very nice time. Service was excellent (Alexandra). Definitely worth taking the family out to.

Update: have revisited twice and food is more mediocre and still cold. They had some loud live DJ music that overpowered house music and the canyon. The vibe and servers were cool. The wait was a little long for food to come to table. When the food arrived it was cold. We ordered chile verde (not the tastiest and super cold) and Pollo Hawaiian (warmer because it came on a skillet but still cold, very tasty but menu says it has cherries which were not there and also they did not have white rice available yet as an option). We also ordered the 3 Amigos Dip trio and chose guacamole, bean dip, and queso fundido (bean dip watery and cold but still tasty, queso fundido cold and not the tastiest, guacamole super tasty). I’m hoping get the hang of it soon and will be back in a few months to update review. The only other thing to say here is that we have 37373883 other Mexican restaurants that are very similar in the area but it’s cools to have that variety in the mall and it’s a big upgrade from Cantina Laredo. Also, the only difference to the other Mexican restaurants around is that they have a few BBQ options on their menu (even their salsa tasted a little like bbq).

One of the worst Mexican food we ever ate. When I saw some reviews about food not being hot, I should have stayed away. Fajita came in skillet but it came in room temperature. It must be sitting in the holding area for a long time. It dries good out, so they should not even put fajita on iron skillet. It should have come with corn tortillas, but the waiter never brought it out. After flagging him more than 5 times he came and he brought flour tortillas. My husband ordered “pick three” but only 2 items came. Enchilada was not edible. But it didn’t matter. Food was horrendous so we didn’t need the third one. When we mentioned to the waiter he didn’t even understand. Rice had a chunk of powder mix. We were charged for 3 items but paid and left. It’s shame since place had a good vibe and located inside Destiny mall.

Review Pt: 1 ( I have too much to write for a single review)

I just want to start off and say that the atmosphere of this restaurant is wonderful. The food as a whole is not bad either. I am not usually one to leave reviews, but this past experience was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in a LONG time...

My family and I went to Mojitos because the past two times my wife and I had been there, it was a wonderful experience. Service was on point, and the food was delivered within about 10-15 minutes after we ordered it. Usually a fantastic experience! This time we decided to bring a few first timers that we had raved about Mojito's to....and let me just say, for this terrible experience to be their first...and likely their last. I am appalled at such a terrible experience.

When we first arrived, we immediately had chips and salsa for us to snack on before ordering our meals, and about 5 minutes later, our waters were delivered to the table. This was when everything went downhill.

Our server, James P, started by greeting us while delivering the waters, no straws, and then proceeds to tell us that he will be back in a moment to take our order. 15-20 minutes go by, and nothing. We started looking around to see where he was...and mind you, the restaurant was not full or busy by any means...as soon as he comes over, he apologizes for the wait..

He proceeds to take our drink orders, and immediately takes our food orders. We think everything is going to go well from here on out...or rather, we were hopeful to say the least. Time passes, and probably another 15 minutes or so goes by and our drinks that we ordered are finally delivered to the table. One of the drinks was wrong, and the others were incredibly watered down...leading us to believe that the drinks had been made quickly after the order was put in, but they sat for the rest of the time before they made their way to our table (my wife had a piece of lettuce in her drink too...most likely courtesy of the wait while food passed over them to be delivered to other tables).

We continue to wait for our meal, and what seems like another 20-25 minutes goes by and we haven't seen eye or tail of James...I understand when waitstaff get busy...I've done it myself...but when a server comes to a table and asks if we need anything and then bolts away after the first statement without waiting to see if anything else could be done in the mean time...that's just poor service...the dude was like the Flash! One second he's there, you can barely get a word in, and then he's gone again.

For the rest of this review...please...

Stopped in for a quick lunch with one of my good friends, honestly we shouldn't have stayed and gave this place any of our money. We came in and there was no hostess present to seat us so we walked up to the bar where we were stopped by someone asking what we were doing, as we informed her she didn't seem very welcoming it was like a what are we doing here. Upon sitting at the bar I placed a drink order and the bartender just seemed un interested in not only dealing with us but the other patrons eating at the bar. My friend attempted to order a chilled tequila shot to which the bartender told her they did not offer, a Mexican restaurant that doesn't serve chilled tequila is not normal so my friend who is a fluent Spanish speaker addressed the woman in Spanish to which she was told the bar did not have ice, obviously dumb founded by the response thinking maybe the woman still did not know what was being asked my friend asked for a manager to which the bartender told her she did not know the name of the manager and also he was not there, however upon addressing another server my friend quickly learned the managers name Antonio and that he was there just off on a break. Honeslty the whole ordeal was strange not sure why a chilled tequila shot would have been an issue as its a common ask but it happened to be and to warrant this review. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as most of the 1star reviews are very true about the lack of customer service...

Came in to the (mostly) empty restaurant w/ little to no expectations. Upon reviewing the menu, decided on the quesabirria (a birria quesadilla! sounds delish!) The food runner brought out an order of tacos instead, and we told him that we ordered a quesadilla, not tacos. He stared at us for a moment, and then flagged a manager (?) down. The manager then tried to serve us the tacos the food runner was holding. We said no, we ordered a quesadilla. They took the tacos back. About five minutes later they returned with more tacos, but plated differently. Tired of arguing about, and fairly hungry, we decided to just bite the bullet and eat what was served (birria tacos). They tasted good, but were not at all what we ordered. The server was not informed of the situation (I think?). When the check came out, we had been charged for the quesabirrias, not the tacos that were served to us, which only then caused more confusion. I think, in the end, it was the kitchens doing, as the right order had been rung in, but I’m left still confused as to how no one, from the server to the food runner to the manager, noticed this mistake and made any actual efforts towards rectifying the issue, especially considering how few people were even in the restaurant. Again, the wrong order tasted good, and the margarita was decent, but the experience as a whole just left a bad taste...
