So to be upfront, I have never done an online review of a restaurant before. Not to say that I haven't had good food around here or that I don't give rave reviews in person to my friends and colleagues, but I just generally don't leave reviews. I'll make an exception here because it was damn good. Also as a side note, grubhub wouldn't let me leave a review on the website so I'm posting it here.
I'll start off by saying that I got the itis from this food. I was at first a bit skeptical in ordering because of the hefty prices and the sort-of-okay ratings on grubhub, but the pictures looked too good to not try it out once. I ordered the omelette rice, their korean fried chicken, and the beef bibimbap. I've eaten beef bibimbap and korean food many times from different places, but I was excited to try out their korean fried chicken and omelette rice.
Delivery was quick and the food was piping hot. The servings were huge. And every single one of the dishes tasted amazing. Even the bibimbap, which I've had loads of times, was sooo good. The beef somehow tasted more delicious and seasoned better than I've ever had before.
The only reasons why this rating is not a 5 (it's more like a 4.8 if I had my way) is mainly because of the price. I bought three things and spent a little over $60 (including tip and grubhub charges). I would usually only spend that amount on food if I'm treating myself (which was what happened today) or if I'm with friends/family. The other minor reason is that the bibimbap was starting to leak from the bottom of the styrofoam container. It may be best to put cardboard under orders like that, but that's just a suggestion.
This place is definitely a hidden gem. I'll definitely be sure to order...
Read moreDecided to stop for a beverage and bite to eat before a concert. Bouncer was looking for a fight. Repeatedly pushed me as I asked him for directions (they were closing the area we where we were standing and I asked him for directions to "courtyard" as it is not visible from the road and we've never been here.) instead of answering me, he pushed me hard, repeatedly. My husband told him to get his hands off his wife. We asked again for directions. Instead of answering he threatened to kick us out. We again said we are complying but had never been here before, please give us directions. He called us whining and worse than the students. The rest of the evening (we found courtyard aka back alley on our own) this bouncer tried to start shit with my husband when he picked up the food we'd already ordered. Update: another staff member Jim was super apologetic for the other individual's behavior. He apologized several.times and said that we should have never been treated that way. If it weren't for Jim we wouldn't go back, but Jim convinced us maybe to try them...
Read moreCrazy loud party bar unlike any of the other hundreds of craft breweries I've been to. First and foremost, check your bill and use cash or else expect to be double charged on your credit card. We thought it was an honest mistake but after reading other reviews, it appears to be a common practice. We stopped in after the SU game in hopes of watching other college football games. They did have a few of the games up on the TV's but crazy loud party music blaring and the noise of the college crowd dancing made it difficult to actually follow any game. The bartenders didn't really know their own brews among the many other brands they also sell and we got 2 different answers about what they were selling of their own brews. It was elbow to elbow in the bar room and a fight to even get up to the bar to try and order drinks. The couple brews we had were decent but hard to enjoy in this environment. Perhaps it's very different on non-game days. We ended up leaving early and going back to our hotel bar to watch the rest of the games we were interested...
