You’ve seen the sauces, but have you seen the dining room? Tucked away in North Utica, It’s A Utica Thing! brings both incredible food & modern vibes to Central NY 🍝🇮🇹 • • #centralny #upstate #uticany #mohawkvalley #uticafood

Overall, I very much enjoyed my visit here. Location may not be amazing being in a retail plaza...but parking was plentiful. Signage was unique and inviting. Interior ambiance and decor is fantastic. I was seated near the bar and the asthetics make you forgot all about that "retail Plaza location". Service was prompt and friendly between hostess and server. I tried some of the local brew, "Utica Club". A tasty, typical pilsner style with a clean, dry finish. I kept it local with an order of chicken riggies. Homemade bread came soon after ordering. It had a good hard crust and the homemade herb butter complimented that nicely. Riggies came out pretty quick....portion size was fair...presentation good. Pasta was perfect al dente. Good proportions of chicken, pasta, peppers and onions. A good sprinkli.g of either fresh parm or romano and parsley. I wish I would've noticed that mushrooms and olives were not included, I would've added them. My bad. The sauce itself "settled" as I was eating it, and it started getting a bit greasy. It may have been that the cherry peppers weren't drained well enough, as those normally come packaged in oil. Or the oil seperating from the cheese? In any case, the sauce was still very tasty. Personally I like having that touch of heavy cream in my riggie sauce...I don't think they make their sauce that way here. I enjoyed it thoroughly, but there was some room for improvement. I had an order of Utica Greens as well. I thought those were very well done. Great flavor, good mix with the breadcrumbs and cherry peppers....my only criticism would be that the prosciutto seemed to disappear in the mix. I would definitely come again. Others seemed very happy with the homemade Pizzas. Friendly, fast service.

U-tica? U-BETCHA!! Do NOT let the bland exterior fool you or deter you from eating here. Inside of its nondescript exterior lies this hidden Italian gem that evokes the famous Italian eateries of Little Italy and Brooklyn - but at a fraction of the price you pay in NYC. A modern, classy theme permeates the interior of this authentic, family-run joint, and puts you at ease while ordering a cocktail or beer. Their pasta is homemade and their sauce is tangy yet robust; a perfect combination. Chicken parm is a staple and cooked to perfection while the white pizza has a delicate touch to it that belies its simplicity. A cannoli for dessert will help round out a meal you’ll be happy you ate while looking forward to the next visit. I never thought I’d find such a great Italian restaurant in this neck of the woods, but make no mistake: It’s a Utica Thing! Plays its part to perfection. Visit. Eat. Be Happy. Come Again…

Went there with a large party had to wait so sat at the bar. My husband and I ordered a couple drinks. I ordered a white Russian, which came out dark brown. As the bartender was making my white Russian, she was opening coffee half-and-half, and put three in my glass so obviously the drink sucked and I did say something and got something else then onto dinner. We had a large pizza with our meal, which was good a little overcooked, but overall, it was OK Not a lot of cheese on it then we ordered dinner and we all had fish fries. The fish fries came out looks like frozen fish and the fries were from the bottom of the bag. I don’t think any of us had a fry longer than 1 inch then the condiments come out with the meal and they’re in a little Silver cup that you see at all restaurants and there must’ve been at least a teaspoon of ketchup and a teaspoon of tartar for each dish I asked the waitress for more and she did bring a couple more that were looked half empty also and when I asked for more ketchup, she ended up bringing me packets so I had to open them myself Along with the fish fry came a salad. They call it a side salad, but it was in a tiny little bowl and had a tomato cut in threes and you got one piece. I did say something about the fish and they insisted it was fresh. I know fresh fish fries I’ve been to plenty it does not compare to Venice, pizzeria Waterville pizzeria, or even the Boulevard diner But most of all it cost $23 for this piece of frozen fish and bottom of the bag fries will never go there again or visit their food truck save your money and do your research. This place is definitely cheap and their quality and...

I love the jar marina sauce and have gifted it to many family and friends. I was so excited to go the restaurant as I was I was going to be in the area. I love Italian wedding soup and I make it frequently so I definitely wanted to order it. Polity I can say it was hot. It was like no wedding soup I’ve ever seen, had it made. Chunks of chicken ( immediate turn off ) and where were the cute little meatballs?? Little tiny pieces of meat ??!! In the soup and very few. Employee argued with me about the soup, just take it back. Offered me another bowl , why . Pasta and sauce was good , but it said spaghetti and meatball(s) , not meatball. Petty maybe but your paying good money. My friend that went with me was disappointed as well with her meal, said food truck was much better. Just so disappointed, I was expecting a great meal . Soup should have been taken off bill , not a lot of money , principal. I’ll continue to purchase the marina sauce but save your money and skip the...
