Rooster's — Restaurant in City of Utica

Rooster’s is located on Charlotte Street. Just a couple short blocks from Downtown Utica’s Genesee Street. Easy street parking right in front of this burger joint. There menu consists of smash burgers, chopped cheese sandwiches, chicken nuggets and fries. What appears to be a limited menu is actually a menu that packs a powerful punch of meaty flavors that any carnivorous creature will will enjoy! The smash burger I had was The Rooster- two burgers smashed, Lettuce, Pickle, Chopped onion, American cheese and Rooster sauce. The burgers them itself was smashed, which gave the outer part of the burger a slight crisp but leaving the inside holding its juicy flavor. The chopped onions were caramelized and added a sweetness that complimented the savory burger. The chopped cheese was quite simply AWESOME! Yes, the chopped smash burgers still retained a lot of juicy flavors but what really hit the mark was the toppings. The bacon, grilled onions, and cheese. Along with there homemade fig jam gave this sandwich a fantastic combination of salty, sweet and savory flavors the really melded well together. This was definitely a highlight for me! What gave both these Sammie’s an extra oomph was the fresh bread that Rooster’s get locally. They toast the inside of the cut bread on the griddle. Their chicken nuggets were like a gourmet McNugget. White meat with a crispy outer layer. The fries are crispy and can be ordered with cheese and even topped with their chopped cheese! The shop has a couple tables but I enjoyed sitting at their counter so I can watch the excitement of my meal being cooked. The team reminds you to pick up a marker and put your signature on their walls and around their window. This place is what the TV show Diners, Drive Ins and Dives is all about! The team there is accommodating and great to strike a conversation with. This is a great stop for a lunch break during the work hour. It also is perfect for a quick meal before seeing a show at the Stanley Theater or pregame meal before heading to the Utica Comets...

Sorry for the long review! I visited this Establishment today and the Food was Awesome, I had the BEST SMASH BURGER EVER! 🍔 Fresh Rolls 🍔he has brought in daily. And Fries, 🍟Again cooked perfectly, Way better than McDonald’s Fries hands down. I would love to see him add Onion Rings to his menu. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you’re getting. He cooked extra onions right into the Burger for me, Just ask. The Owner is a very Friendly (Javon) and has an excellent sense of humor along with Caring About his Customers along with the rest of his staff , and his place is immaculate! I have seen after his lunch hour rush and it’s always attended to. I was there @ 1:30 and people were still walking in. I read in an older post that it’s a Cash Business Only. NOT SO…. HE ACTUALLY EXCEPTS CREDIT CARDS! He’s moving to Kookie’s Q sometime in September in N.Utica where there will be free parking in their huge parking lot. I’m definitely going to be a regular customer! Everything LQQKS Delicious. He gets a full 5 Star from me ! I recommend all his dishes on his menu simply because everyone there had a different meal than I had and I noticed everyone inhaled all their food. Sorry for the long review but you really have to give this establishment a shot. Don’t miss out on one ,or I should say the “BEST BURGERS” in The Utica/Rome Area! And try the Chopped Steak Sandwich. I was purchasing a vehicle in Medina NY. I love burgers and researched burger spots that are on my way home to Spfld. It’s a 5 1/2hr drive so I looked really good. Before I left, Roosters came up for me on google. It looked good online so decided it would be the spot to stop at for me about half way. OMG did I make the best choice in stopping at Roosters!! It wasn’t just good it was amazing! Javon and his friend on the grill cooked me the best by far, (Rooster) double burger I ever ever had in my life. It was so delicious that for days I would still think about how juicy, savory and perfectly cooked that burger was. To top it off , I met some locals (husband and wife) that were so welcoming, very nice, that I lost track of time and overstayed my time at the restaurant talking lol. Javon the nicest guy ever gave me some of his special sauce and also buns for me to take and make my own (which I did😋) burgers at home . I am truly greatful and it was a pleasure to have stopped in and had the most amazing food ever. I told my family and my son, who also loves burgers, is dying to stop in at Roosters for some of the best burgers in life it self.
