The management in this place has gone downhill. I used to enjoy ordering from here. Last night I placed an order through Grubhub, my order was delayed twice and then cancelled after waiting for an hour and a half. When I called the restaurant, they said they never received an order from me and that the system was working fine all night. They blamed it on Grubhub. I called grubhub and they gave me a coupon. I passed by the restaurant and someone showed me the grubhub orders from the night before and sure enough my order was there. They said it came in late and the app cancelled it. Does not seem true but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I used that coupon to order again tonight. I called to confirm they received the order and they did. Once again the order was delayed twice, but this time they did deliver. No toiletries, the food was cold and I was missing one of my two sides. When I called the restaurant to voice my frustration, they said they would refund my meal because Grubhub would not send another driver to bring me just a side. She also said she could not bring me the side because she was the only manager on site. I called grubhub to confirm that they would refund my meal, Grubhub called the restaurant and they said they claimed nothing was wrong with my meal and what is my complaint. The person on the phone was not a manager and had no intention of doing anything about my order. I had to explain to Grubhub the situation again. Grubhub calls me back saying that they were willing to refund me $3 for the missing side. After wasting half an hour of my time and allowing me to eat a cold incomplete meal. I called the restaurant to speak to a manager and they said they only had one manager on site, he was male and was in a meeting and could not be reached. They are liars, they don’t care about customers, and im unfortunate enough to have this as my local Applebees. They lost another...
Read moreApril 18, 2015, 8:00 p.m., I visited the Executive BLVD location for just a drink. I walked in and there was no one to greet me so I sat myself at the bar. I asked several other patrons if there was someone sitting at one particular seat in the front of the bar because there was so many left over dishes from other people's meals and drinks left on the bar. After sitting there for 10 minutes among all of this filth and the outcome of just lazy bar tending and wait staff, I was not addressed even once by either of the seven people standing behind the bar. I witnessed the waiters and waitresses repetitively asking for drink orders.
After 15 more minutes of utter frustration a overly tattooed young man steps up and begins to clean the area in front of me and lackadaisically ask me if I wanted anything. He had shown up with no menu or anything else I may have needed to eat with. The sad part of this entire story is that I have been staying at the Residence Inn across the street for 16 days and visited this Applebee's at least six other times. I received the same piss poor service; just to other degrees. I don't know what kept me going back. I think it was just convenient.... I would advise anyone staying in Yonkers for pleasure or business please do not go to the Applebee's on Executive BLVD. Giovanni's is right down the hill and it is a much better atmosphere and the food is 20x better then you will ever get from this spot.
If the corporate staff actually reads these post: demand that the manager and the entire bartender staff be replaced and a much more mature wait staff be sought out. Re-training will not accomplish any real change. Lastly, tell your employees to stop writing positive reviews to balance out the good vs. the bad. It is evident now that there could be no "good" that came out of this location.
A very...
Read moreWe were seated for breakfast & that was the extent of our waitress other than bringing the food. She never came back to see if we needed anything if everything was ok. We had to flag her down like a taxi to get her attention that we wanted our check. She definitely needs training in how to be a waitress although it would seem that it should be commonsense to check on the people you seated & served food. The food was disgusting. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon, French fries. I don’t know what the cooked the egg in but it wasn’t a good taste & the egg’s weren’t scrambled they were put on the grill as scrambled eggs then made like an omelette with nothing inside. The bacon wasn’t in strips they were like little chunk pieces & put on your plate in a heap. We never seen anything like this before. The only thing half decent were the French fries. It was like after noon time yet there weren’t really any customers. Like 2-3 other couples. For lunch time you would think there would be more people but after the experience we had, I can see why there weren’t more people. If this place isn’t closed in a few months, I’d be surprised. The cook came out with a female working in the restaurant, we’re thinking because we weren’t touching our food. The cook didn’t approach to get any feed back & that’s how this place rolls. Why wouldn’t the cook approach to get your feedback on what you find wrong with the food? We were at another restaurant & he heard my hubby talking to the waitress about the food & he came over to get first hand our opinions on the food so he could see what he could do better or...
