So here I am back in my old neighborhood strolling along with my teenage son. We came upon Banquetes Dona Cheli and before I rate the delicious food I want to talk about the family that started the business. The mother is the exclusive chef and the details that she puts into preparing chicken tacos are superb. I places 4 orders of chicken tacos with everything on the side. From the cilantro, onion, jalapeño Napales, sautéed cibolla and the sauces can’t forget the lime….this is authentic good home style Mexican cuisine. If you are ever in the neighborhood please stop by at 34 Park Hill Avenue, Yonkers and speak with any of the chef’s children. They are courteous, smart, food savvy and really know the richness and uniqueness of Mexican food. The tacos were so good that before I left to head back home I had my son call in another order so that I can have my wife and other som try these chicken tacos! Thank you to the whole staff and next time I’m in Yonkers and am hungry I know where to go for comida...
Read moreThis is by far one of the best authentic Mexican eateries in all of Yonkers (or Westchester in my opinion). Everything is well seasoned and absolutely delicious. The waitresses are great and very attentive- our favorite is Michelle she is truly what hospitality embodies. She is very attentive and warm and always has a smile and 'can do' attitude. We have recommended friends to dine here and they too have become repeat Patrons. This truly a hidden gem. Give them a try - trust me you will be back! My husband loves their Birria tacos, I love their tacos they serve them up with grilled nopal (cactus) and their Haurachos are delish finish that with their homemade Agua frescas! We can't wait to try there...
Read moreFirst time here ! Definitely coming back. The food took a minute to get to the table but definitely worth the wait. You know they make it with love lol. The music was on point. Great vibes. Great tunes. They don’t just play Mexican music like from bands. I heard bad bunny. Becky G. Etc. The staff were super sweet. I had the tacos placeros, the hard boiled egg and the breaded chicken. And had fresh hibiscus water also known as agua de jamaica. They were very generous with the food and as well as for the drink.
