Yonkers City Court — Local services in City of Yonkers

They need to close the prose division of this court. I am trying to sue a condominium owner because his radiator leaked and destroyed my ceiling and everything in its path. I went there and got the summons, took them home, prepared them, and got them served. After taking back the affidavits of service to the court, I was told that I must contact a lawyer to put them on the court calendar. I asked why this was so; all of them sitting in the office kept telling me one by one that they could not give me legal advice. When did it become legal advice to place a case on the court calendar? So, I went home and called a lawyer's office, and the lawyer told me to wait until 30-plus days, then I should write to the court for the case to be placed on the calendar. I did as he said. After returning to the court with the document to ask the judge to put the issue on the calendar; the same set of women were telling me that what I did was wrong, and they could not give me legal advice. Now if everybody plaintiff who steps into that court needs to get a lawyer, then what is the purpose of the prose division in the court? It is a waste of taxpayers' money and should be closed. Save taxpayer's money and put it to better use than to have a cluster of people attending what is supposed to be employment and is yet to know their job. These workers here are MISERABLE. like them we all have a 9-5. I rushed to try and get to this place with my 10 month old. I got there 5 minutes before closing to ask what’s the procedure to a letter I got in the mail and the rude lady asked if we’re together. She was already arguing at the guy in front of me about how they’re closed and the cops should’ve never let us up and they don’t get over time for this. This place have no space for parking, instead they have all that empty space , even though you pay you could still get a ticket inside the parking lot, it was may case. It Get there it’s was crowded it, and they have this sign that they are not responsible for theft and damages , lol in a court parking lot 😆 there a lot o reserved spaces that are always empty, there not attendant, but there is for you lose, parking enforcement, it’s just another way to ripoff people.
