First off, I'm so sorry for not having any pics. I was so hungry that day that I just wanted to start eating. This place was recommended to me by two different people, so I just up and went. The presentation was nice. I had the impossible burger for $12.50, which includes the toppings, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheese. To be honest, they did have the option to build-a-burger. It seemed to be around the same price, more or less. That starts at $7.50. I also had the Yuca fries. Not a fan at all. Yuca is bland off the top. You gotta do too much to give it flavor. To me the yuca fries had a thick coating of seasonings. Even with that, it was still bland a bit, but they also gave you a sauce to go with it. It helps a bit, but after 4 or 6 fries, you're over it. That would not be a reorder for me. My best friend had a turkey burger and sweet potato fries. That combo never fails! So the next time, it's the sweet potato fries for me. Oh, I did have a specialities drink that they sell. It was a passion fruit drink. It was good. I just forgot to ask if they make it or if they work with a small business vendor. You can usually tell if it's a small or big business by the quality of the label. Anyway, yes, I'd go back. Enjoy if you do! Last thing, my bestie had a coke with her meal, and together, everything came to about $42.00. Seems to be the average price for two these...
Read moreCame here a number of times as far back as 2021. Food was amazing. Came on Tuesday 4/12/2022 (a few weeks after the last time) and called food in around 8:30. Picked up food. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños and a regular cocina double cheeseburger and 2 small fries. A few weeks ago it cost me 21.00 and change. Today it was 30+ for same order. It's what I always order. Get home and food was still hot but had no flavor at all. My daughter's burger was dry, mine was undercooked midway into eating it. I do pink in steak but not burgers. Burgers were smaller and the fries were overcooked. I put ketchup and yellow mustard to add to the cocina sauce and still no flavor. I would have called restaurant before leaving this review but obviously I picked food up at close to closing time. Absolutely the worst experience here by far and if things cannot be cooked consistently I will not be returning for the difference in pricing every time I order and the lack of taste in the meat, and for 30+ I'll go elsewhere. Shame because I liked this place but today left a bland taste in my mouth for my cheat day! I don't understand it nor the difference in pricing when I order the same stuff each time I've been here! Fries overcooked one burger undercooked and one too dry and nothing had any flavor except...
Read moreCocina Burger Shop on McLean Ave is serving some of the most unique and flavorful food I’ve had in Yonkers. I ordered the Chimmy Burger with fried cheese, and it was absolute perfection, juicy, well seasoned beef, crispy edges, bold chimi sauce, and that fried cheese crunch that takes it over the top.
I also had their Lemon Pepper Buffalo Wings, and this was my first time ever hearing about that flavor combination. The tangy lemon pepper blended perfectly with the classic buffalo heat, a total game changer for wing lovers.
The real surprise of the night was their brand new fries, not even on the menu yet, possibly called Carribe Crunch. Golden fries topped with fried Dominican sausage, fried cheese, ketchup, mayo, and chimi sauce, it’s a flavor packed bite from start to finish.
To drink, I had their homemade limeade, made fresh in house with just lime, sugar, and water. Simple, refreshing, and the perfect balance to the rich flavors.
The food is incredible, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Cocina Burger Shop is a must visit in Yonkers, whether you’re a local or just...
