The main offering, the food, was good and enjoyable. The seasoning seemed just right and the dishes arrived quickly and were steaming from the kitchen. The servers were attentive and responsive, but the ambiance was a bit too raucous for conversation. Loud bachatas (Dominican music, not Cuban) made it difficult to keep a conversation going without shouting. The place is too small for the volume setting they had on it. Also, though the restaurant offers Cuban cuisine and decor, it's really a Dominican restaurant selling Cubanish food (there's nothing wrong with Dominican-operated restaurants, but why not own up to the fusion of the Spanish Caribbean here?). The place was small and our party ended up close to the bathrooms in the back, where there were people constantly waiting because they fit one at a time. My main complaint here is price: These dishes were very costly for the offering, ranging in the $20 to $40 cost per person without a drink. Add the drink and you could easily spend $50 to $70 per person in one meal. Add desserts and, well, you get the picture. To top that off, this restaurant has joined many others in adding the tips to the bill, and starting at 18% for the lowest option. This is an abusive practice that is, unfortunately, becoming the norm for restaurants in the New York City area (I know this...

Ordered guava and cheese empanadas, no one person in my family could bite through them, like someone microwaved an old empanada too long. We ordered the cod fish, it was actually spoiled , had to throw it out. Vaca Frita had no flavor , it’s supposed to be crispy around the edges from being pan fried a second time. The steak was extremely old. You know the flavor when an uncooked steak turns brown, then cook it .I spent $160 with drivers tip. My family could eat nothing. Uber eats won’t refund my money, I took pics. I called the restaurant and the manager is not there today to refund my money. DONT EAT HERE, DONT USE U ER EATS EITHER. If you want good Cuban food , go to New Jersey it’s worth the trip , Rumba Cubana. Sorry , I have given you a chance to do the right thing. Eat...
Read moreReally don't know what happened to this place. Used to enjoy going here for Happy Hour. I guess its true what they say, "Nothing stays the same". Went to LaBella Havana to meet my Sister for drinks, disappointed that Mojitos were no longer offered on the Happy Hour Menu nor were any other speciality drinks, they also stopped serving the crispy thin green plaintains that they used to sit in front of everyone who came in for Happy Hour. I did order a Mojito and the bartender put so much mint in it that every sip I took I sucked up nothing but mint. The bartender and the service was not up to par. I was there before my Sister arrived and as soon as she got there I told her it was time to go and she agreed. Also the hostess on duty was outside of the restaurant dancing, laughing and joking around with someone she new and not attending to her hosting duties. LaBella Havana never has to worry about me frequenting there...
